Hr. Dr. Kasper finally found the source of all the random neighing happening at night in the backyard - it was a little abandoned eight-legged Sleipnir colt!
It’s not known how long Søren will stay with the Kaspers, but he’s turning into a troublemaker eating Freyja’s miniature golden apples and other garden plants - but at the same time, he’s a new playmate for Fritz and Frl. Flicka; eventually when he gets much bigger, Søren would most likely be sent to Freyja’s family in Sweden where he’ll have more space to run around.

• Aina, Sigrid, and Richard together in his rickety old red 1969 VW Beetle.
Aina loved teasing her daughter and Richard, trying her best to get the two hook up quickly - which didn’t go so well at first (Sigrid only started liking Richard without her mother around to push them together - she hates being rushed though she didn’t have many years left due to her curse).
• Richard at the time in the 1980s was really into computers and other miscellaneous technology.
For a fun project, he tried making his own computer system with random items tossed out in junkyards and thrift shops - which he ended up using to help count his daily quota of souls when he returned to his true self as Death.
• Sigrid was actually surprised how many movies Richard had watched and liked almost all of the same genres as he did - including Romance (Richard actually cries watching Romance films; he’s really sensitive underneath his scary appearance as a Reaper).
Because of their shared love of film and games, the two started out having a kind of Big Brother/Little Sister relationship that grew from there.
•Since their one night together, they became inseparable until Richard had to return to home in Kiel or travel overseas for clients/patients.
Because Sigrid’s school prohibits dating and people don’t like Richard as a foreigner, they kept their affection to a minimum in public until their relationship was exposed.
•After being together for almost two years, Sigrid’s life curse takes final effect; but days before her soul was removed, she gives birth to their only child Johannes Faustuz.
Aina constantly mentions how he eats, cries, talks, and even sleeps was just like Sigrid when she was a baby, but most people just focus on how much he looks his father and use that fact to carry their dislike of Richard onto him (Richard had a notorious reputation as a doctor and Reaper when he was human).

Sigrid looks like her mother Aina, but really takes after her father Samuel - mainly because she inherited his coloring since Aina’s albino.

Samuel was a well-known Warlock in the occult community who was notoriously known to be brash and heartless; he was smitten by Aina’s rare appearance working as a waitress, quickly marrying her and promised her a worry-free life in elite occult society despite her low status as a Wicca (an Enchantress who solely relies on plants and animals for magical abilities).
After Sigrid’s birth, Samuel was ashamed and disappointed having a Wicca daughter, calling her unworthy of being alive since she couldn’t cast magic on her own despite being the child of the most powerful Warlock of Denmark; he placed a life curse on her, almost removing her lifespan entirely before Aina intervened and ran off with Sigrid - divorcing Samuel immediately.
Because Sigrid’s father is currently married to the academy’s headmistress, she gets a lot of negative attention from schoolmates; but surprisingly with the help of potions to unlock her inner magic potential, Sigrid turned out to be extremely powerful and became the top student in her school.
Samuel never regretted cursing Sigrid, and never bothered checking in her progress in school and personal life, but has been surprised seeing the youngest son of “the Black Skull of Kiel” as her assigned Reaper.

From the storage room behind the cash register, Sigrid would secretly watch him kill Tatzelwurms and do housework her mother couldn’t get done due to lack of physical strength (Sigrid’s former crush Batty rarely helps out - especially now that he’s in the police academy, the arcade owner/Batty’s father Didier only helped if he’s not busy with work, and their neighbor/Sigrid’s homeroom teacher Mr. Vannderhaussen isn’t very friendly towards Aina since his cat Hedy would always run away and stay in her greenhouse); as Aina assigned more tasks and allowed Richard stay with them during his travels, Sigrid slowly breaks out of her shell and looks forward to his visits - especially when he drove her to the local university’s library, gave pats on the head (eventually kisses on her forehead), and left random gifts on the cashier’s counter.
•Richard would leave some clothes behind when he’s done staying over at Aina’s flower shop/house, especially if they’re still being washed after exterminating Tatzelwurms from the backyard.
A lot of his shirts (and gym shorts) look similar to Sigrid’s; it’s often after wearing a shirt for a while is when she realizes it’s Richard’s - mainly because of the design and slightly oversized fit (Richard wears most of his shirts tight).
Sigrid would be extremely embarrassed when he sees her wearing his shirts, but Richard finds it really cute - more so when they’re officially boyfriend and girlfriend.

• Often whenever Aina’s too busy with work at her flower shop, the weather’s bad, or if she really wants to play matchmaker (which was most of the time), she’ll ask Richard to pick up Sigrid from school.
Initially Sigrid hated it, but when it means not having to deal with bullies, not riding her bike over five miles one way, a free trip to the university library, and some rounds at the arcade, she quickly took the offer.
And as their relationship grew, Sigrid looked forward to having conversations about the latest video games and reaching over to eject his disco cassettes to listen to the latest hits on the radio (Sigrid mostly loves Synth-Pop).
• Sigrid studies really hard - she’s the top student at her academy despite not being a “pure” enchantress (she and Aina can’t cast spells on their own and have to rely on plants).
But she has her struggles - she’s not very good with English and Mathematics, and if she’s overwhelmed, Sigrid will fall asleep.
Whenever she gets to study at the university library, Richard often helps her with her homework.
• Sigrid grew more attached to Richard as he continued to visit Aina’s flower shop over the months, occasionally staying overnight if he’s unable to get to his rented hotel room during his travels.
It got more difficult when they officially became a couple having a long distance relationship and Richard constantly called overseas.
• Sigrid does get a little too curious about what Richard does for a living (besides collecting souls as Death’s incarnation).
Richard is an epidemiologist who treats people with diseases caused by curses (Sigrid has a life curse, so naturally he was drawn to her); one of his patients was Freyja’s mother Sonja who was cursed by a troll and slowly dying as she gradually turns to stone.
Because of his numerous attempts to make treatments for her condition, Richard has been called a “Quack” by Erik.

• Richard often helps Sigrid with her schoolwork; occasionally when he’s out shopping for work supplies and books, he might find a couple notebooks/journals/diaries his girlfriend would like using since they’re plain and have blank pages for her to doodle notes.
• Aina loved seeing her daughter Sigrid and Richard finally becoming a couple; they stayed together despite the academy’s strict rules about dating, Richard’s true identity as Death and background as a foreigner, and the large age gap.
It was when the timer from Sigrid’s curse went off Richard was forced to separate from her, tearing out her soul only days after she gave birth to their son.
• Since the arcade owner is a close friend of her mother’s, Sigrid is allowed to take home some of his apples.
She’s tall for a teenage girl, but not quite tall enough to reach the top branches of his tree; both she and the arcade owner are appreciative whenever Richard is around to pick the apples hardest to reach (Batty, on the other hand, gets upset seeing a stranger helping his father when he has time to help himself).
• Richard often gets playful when showing his affections for Sigrid; she’ll get embarrassed if it’s too much affection, but gets upset if he’s not around for long periods of time - if he’s gone for too long, Sigrid would start crying and worry that he had been injured during his travels or had reverted back to his true form as Death Himself.

Bernadette “Bertie” Santamaria-Santos is Freyja’s quirky assistant who also happens to be an Aswang; she’s not a very strong one (she’s at the lowest tier of the Aswang hierarchy), and actually prefers the blood of cows and pigs over humans.
Bertie is over 120 years old, and unlike traditional vampires, she enjoys spending time outside during the daytime (she hates computer and phone screens due to blue light).
As a Reaper, Faustuz is ready to attack at any moment if she goes rogue, making it awkward whenever Bertie is around for business.
He’s also called “Mr. Ström” by Bertie because she sees him in possession of Freya, a lower status beneath his wife.
It’s not certain if she knows Death/Richard or that Faustuz is his son, but she can sense there’s something odd about him as “not a normal human“ with “an evil eye” (monsters are frightened by the Kasper’s inherited trait “Odin’s Eye” due to its ability to see their weaknesses).

Every summer vacation Johannes Faustuz would visit from Kiel and stay with his grandmother in Copenhagen.
Though Aina loves how much he acts a lot like her daughter Sigrid, she retains some bitterness of the fact that her grandson strongly resembles his father Richard (Sigrid looks a lot like Aina, except Aina is albino - Sigrid inherited her father’s light brown hair and pale blue eyes).
Faustuz grew up loving plants, always wanting to know which ones were his mother’s favorite (his favorite flowers are cosmos and asters); Aina would also show her grandson the many places his parents would go out on dates, and even cook up the same meals she did for Sigrid and Richard.
Since living abroad at Los Angeles, Faustuz doesn’t visit and spend as much time with his grandmother as much as he used to, but the two FaceTime at least once a month and Aina sends a yearly package of custom potions and mythical plant extracts.

They have similar tastes in genres, but occasionally they’ll butt heads deciding which movie to watch.
Also, Richard’s actually wearing something new for once (though he still prefers his tailored bell bottoms over straight legged jeans).
• Sigrid sees a photo of Richard when he was about her age.
He was a very popular boy in school who enjoyed playing sports (especially football/soccer), singing in choir, and dating girls only to shatter their hearts for fun (how he got the nickname “Playboy Dick”).
It wasn’t until after meeting Sigrid he felt pity and a constant desire to take care of her to make up for his eventual taking of her soul (which added to the cause of Richard’s lovesickness).
• Richard isn’t a fan of cats due to their antics and numerous lives, but he’s developed a slow liking to Hedy and Odin as they show him affection and gift him souls they managed to capture.

• Sigrid is a bit tomboyish and occasionally likes dressing in gym clothes to make some of her tasks easier.
She also works hard to grow rare plants such as mandrakes for their helpful properties and to prove the ancient knowledge she and her mother Aina have isn’t inferior to other magic users.

Kaspers usually don’t like cats because they often chase away spirits, small mythical creatures, and souls that need capturing (why they normally have dogs), but cats are drawn to them and show them affection despite their antics.
Hr. Dr. Kasper grew up around Hedy and her kittens, and his wife Freyja’s family are known to own Norwegian Forest Cats, so he has a higher tolerance for cats compared to most Reapers; Klimt was his son Cedrick’s birthday gift, but for whatever reason, chose Faustuz as his main human and constantly begs for attention from him.

Tatzelwurms have venom in their saliva (being part snake), and it’ll kill anyone who hasn’t built up a gradual tolerance to it.
Richard is relieved Sigrid only got bit once (she’s never fought a Tatzelwurm before), but he would of been inconsolable had she gotten another bite and died before he could treat her with an antidote.
Sigrid is excited that their prototype repellent works, but promises to wait next time for another test with Richard around to kill any Tatzelwurm that gets too close.
(This happens right before Richard had his trip to Greece to track down a Manticore, and when he first caught Lovesickness after realizing how much he cared about Sigrid despite being Death wanting her soul).
