With October being “Spooky Season” with Ghosts and Skeletons, here’s a quick character comparison sheet of Richard Kasper and his true form as Death Himself (The Grim Reaper / Der Sensenmann). 💀 Richard’s fashion-sense is firmly stuck mostly in the 1970s, but he’s been slowly upgrading his wardrobe to the 1980s since meeting Sigrid (their story arc is set circa early to mid 1980s). As for his skeletal form, he often transforms into Death whenever there’s a marked soul he has to personally collect for Fate Herself; to see Richard as Death means one will most likely die, but occasionally he’ll be merciful and spare his victims for another time (hence “a brush with Death”). But the transformation takes a toll on his lifespan and health condition as a human, most of his incarnations living on average for 23 years (this was Death’s longest living incarnation due to better healthcare, treatments, and preservation methods over time - which adds to the mystery of how old he was and exactly what age did he live up to). Sigrid and Richard in his true form as Death. - I had people thinking Richard is Sigrid’s father, but he’s not (Samuel Jörgensen is her father, who happened to be Denmark’s most powerful Warlock at the time). He’s Death in human form for a limited time as a member of the Kasper Family (he’s an incarnation given a new body when a soulless stillborn child was born into the family he chooses). His current incarnation isn’t quite old enough to be her father (he’d had to be a young teenager if so, making him more like an older brother or cousin - especially with Sigrid’s mother Aina initially treating him like if he’s a son; it also doesn’t help that he has very light blond hair that’s almost a silvery white, making him look old), but as an entity Death is hundreds of thousands years old. Sigrid’s life curse is what made Fate send him to observe her and wait for the moment he can take her soul; but due to circumstances, Richard has grown fond of Sigrid and felt pity for her not being able to live a full life (Sigrid also slowly developed feelings for Richard despite knowing he’s her assigned Reaper and a member of the Kasper Family the occult community looks down at due to their checkered history). Johannes (Hr. Sigrid and her father Samuel. - As a young Warlock, Samuel demanded the pub owner to release Aina as his wife despite the warnings that she’s Wicca; Samuel was mesmerized with Aina’s albinism, charm, and beauty, believing all these traits were what he wanted for his future children - especially for a firstborn son. However, since he ignored the warnings about Wicca, his firstborn was a daughter - and not even an Enchantress due to Aina being directly descended from an ancient matriarchal Wicca bloodline (meaning her firstborn will always be a Witch, Wicca class). Samuel was so disappointed in having a daughter unable to cast spells without activation potions, viewing her as useless; when Sigrid was finally brought home from the hospital, that’s when Samuel took the opportunity to place a curse on his own daughter. Aina quickly took her daughter away before her life was completely drained out, leaving poor Sigrid less than 20 years to live; ever since the curse was placed, Aina and Sigrid have been living apart from Samuel in their flower shop located in Copenhagen. Samuel also moved on to marrying a second wife named Sarah (who happens to be the Enchantress academy’s headmistress) and finally having a son named Torben. He only tolerates Sigrid’s existing knowing she doesn’t have long to live, Sarah being fond of having a stepdaughter physically resembling him, and Torben having a “free babysitter” despite being almost old enough to stay home alone (he’s ten years old). Eleventh OC for my wardrobe prompt: Johannes Faustuz (better known as Hr. Dr. Kasper)/Pajamas This guy really doesn’t need much of an introduction - he’s one of my first original OCs following after Cedrick (he’s his father after all). His personality is mostly nice with crass and sarcastic undertones, but overall he means well and goes out of his way to help others even to the detriment of his patience and sanity; he sometimes risks injury if it means protecting those unfamiliar with mythical creatures and monsters. He works as an oncologist or substitute professor during the daytime, Grim Reaper at night. Johannes is the result of a relationship between Death Himself (Richard at the time during his brief time as a human) and Sigrid who was cursed to die before reaching her 18th birthday (she died from complications of childbirth). His relationship with his father is strained, especially with feeling abandoned since he was almost 4 when Death couldn’t maintain his human form much longer. Eighth OC for my wardrobe prompt: Hannah / Spring Hannah (or Hana, pronounced the same way for the Japanese version of her name) Kasper is Hansel’s younger sister and the middle child of the Kasper sibling trio. She currently takes after her father Heinrich’s stern mannerisms and mother Yoko’s reserved attitude, but as a youth she was quite the rebellious girl staying past curfew and partying out with the “wrong crowd”. It wasn’t until after a brush with Death Himself (realizing it was her beloved uncle Richard from her childhood) Hannah went sober and pursued a kindled passion for cooking; she has managed to be top chef of her own Asian cuisine restaurant. She’s not too keen being involved with the family business within the occult and mythical, but in rare circumstances she will participate with her brother and cousin in dealing with rogue monsters (she actually has a Kobald [a German house elf or sprite, similar to the Scandinavian Tomte] working in her kitchen who once was a prankster leaving messes around the Kasper’s’ home in Kiel). Hannah initially had a cold relationship with Hr. Like many Kaspers before him, he’s a very dedicated man to his family despite having a checkered past (he’s been married three times with two daughters Eva and Leisa; both daughters want nothing to do with him but still feel the need to assist their extended family in regards to the mythical and occult). In his younger years, Hansel has been quite the popular guy in school getting attention from everyone with his suave looks and smooth talking; nowadays he’s overlooked as cocky and viewed as beneath his younger cousin Johannes - mainly because Johannes is a doctor while Hansel is a nurse, and he didn’t inherit the Kasper’s infamous “Odin’s Eye” like Johannes (thus not being the family’s heir despite being the oldest son). Kasper OCs from the 1980s to the 2020s/2030s in Fall Academia Aesthetic fashion. Each OC also has a second name they use based on circumstances (Richard’s true identity is Death/The Grim Reaper; Sigrid getting married and changing her last name; Johannes, Cedrick, and Freyja have pseudonyms based off each other’s last names). 📝 Extra Notes 📝 If Cedrick’s birthday is on Friday the 13th of October, he would have to been born in 2006 or 2017. If 2006, that means he’s a teenager right now; if 2017, then he’ll be a teenager in the 2030s (the original concept setting). In either scenario, both of his parents remain as Millennials (originally I planned Johannes to be 45 and Freyja 39 in the 2030s; my OCs don’t have official ages but age ranges to keep up with the times). Also, it’s kinda been continuous thing that nobody knows exactly how old Richard was when he was human (except for himself and his immediate family). Sigrid figured he was much older than her (at least eight years older to twice her age, 23-35 years old), but was shocked that his true age as Death was actually 10,000X more than she thought. Second OC for October’s wardrobe prompt: Sigrid / Formal Sigrid Faustus-Jörgensen is one of my OCs set in the 1980s (hence the pink frilly gown she’s wearing here), the daughter of an albino Wicca and Denmark’s most powerful Warlock. Her father cursed her soon after her birth, disappointed she wasn’t the son he wanted and not even an Enchantress (the class of Witches who don’t require potions to activate their magical powers, unlike the class of Wicca who rely on potions); she was to die before adulthood and her stolen lifespan was transferred to extend her father’s. Despite being Wicca, Sigrid became the top student in her class due to her inherited power from her father. Cursed with a limited lifespan, she had difficulty making friends amongst classmates; even her childhood crush Batty dismissed her as “not worth his time”. Being isolated made her very attentive to plants she grew for her mother’s flower shop and play video games daily at the local arcade (Sigrid would often refer to her plants as “her children”). Sigrid’s soul was also marked to be collected by Death Himself when her time was finally up; with 2-5 years left to live, Europe’s top Reaper arrived to observe and wait until he can take her soul on Death’s behalf. Initially Sigrid didn’t like Richard based on his playboy reputation and violent methods of killing mythical monsters, and she did figure out that his true identity as Death Himself, but after almost a year later the pair were inseparable and deeply in love.
