New Sigrid Version & Original Cedrick Version (2nd Slide). - Being set in the 1980s, Sigrid has a portable tape cassette player (a.k.a. Walkman) on her lap while wearing headphones. Prior to getting her own, Sigrid would sneak off with her boyfriend Richard’s yellow Walkman while on break from working at her mother’s flower shop. Sigrid is also wearing her boyfriend’s T-shirt with a logo showing off his hometown of Kiel, Germany (she lives in Copenhagen, Denmark). Cedrick is living in current times with Bluetooth headphones (AirPods 🎧) connected to his cellphone (or “Handy” as it’s called where he and his family are from, lol) for audio. His outfit was inspired by male K-Pop idols (particularly Felix of STRAY KIDS), reflecting how popular the genre is in the 2020s and onwards (my modern OCs were originally supposed to be set in the 2030s, but it’s been convenient drawing them for current times). I just keep going down the 1980s rabbit hole when it comes to drawing OCs and clothing…😑 The 1980s really had nice formal wear that’s very iconic and makes a strong statement. - As for the song, it’s actually from the 1970s - a little something from Richard’s era since he’s stuck there (Sigrid’s trying her best to get him with the times in regards to his wardrobe and cultural references).
