Continuing with the mermaid running away in Kimiko’s form. - The mermaid managed to steal a few things from the Kaspers’ office as she makes her getaway: Cedrick’s favorite pair of slippers and lab coat with the Herr Doktor’s scrubs. Obviously Cedrick is not happy with 2/3 of his usual work attire gone. The mermaid picked his clothes because he’s the smaller of the two Kaspers even though he’s over a foot taller than Kimiko. - Now that she’s on the loose, who will the mermaid encounter next? And who will the Kaspers call for backup to kill her? — #digitalart #digitaldrawing #ipaddrawing #ipadart #ipadproart #ipadrodrawing #animestyle #mangastyle #comic #originalcharacter #characterart #characterstudy #charactersheet #femalecharacter #labcoat #slippers #mermay #mermay2019

Kimiko is now in a deep sleep that no first love’s true kiss will be able to wake her up. Only the death of the mermaid will bring her back to life. - The last slide is just to show that I don’t always stick with my initial versions of the line art and make slight adjustments until I like it. I also went with a different color scheme just because I want to.😛 — #digitalart #digitaldrawing #ipaddrawing #ipadart #ipadproart #ipadrodrawing #lineart #halftone #animestyle #mangastyle #originalcharacters #malecharacters #man #boy #doctor #femalecharacters #woman #nurse #mermaid #mermay2019 #mermay

Taking a small break from the story again. My hand is getting a bit sore...☹️✍🏻 - The first of Cedrick’s notes regarding the mermaid (or “Meerjungfrau” for the Kaspers): “Only a young person pure of mind, body, and soul will be worthy of a mermaid’s bite so that she may regain her lost beauty. Once the mermaid has her beauty restored, the bitten will fall into a deep slumber until the mermaid is slain.” - 90% of the time, Cedrick is doing research and work for his father and others; 5% he actually does VR/AR operations, 4% he plays video games, and the last 1% he eats, sleep, goes to the bathroom, etc. And big disclaimer: I don’t speak much (if any) German, so if there’s any misspelled words and phrases, poke me to correct them for future reference. I’m trying my best to keep my characters as accurate as possible to what I designed them to be. — #digitalart #digitaldrawing #ipaddrawing #ipadart #ipadproart #ipadrodrawing #animestyle #mangastyle #comic #notes #writing #originalcharacter #malecharacter #man #boy #doctor #mermaid #mermay2019 #mermay

It’s poor Kimiko Abe the nursing student who gets bit by the mermaid.😭 Now the mermaid will have her beauty restored, also growing to human size as Kimiko’s doppelgänger. That’s not a good thing because there’s one man currently infatuated with Kimiko... - This one took FOREVER~ to color. Next page will most likely be black and white, but it’s still possible that I might make another colored one just because I can.😛 — #digitalart #digitaldrawing #ipaddrawing #ipadart #ipadproart #ipadrodrawing #lineart #halftone #animestyle #mangastyle #originalcharacters #malecharacters #man #boy #doctor #femalecharacters #girl #child #aquarium #mermaid #mermay2019 #mermay

Character Sheet: Cedrick and Tricia bickering as usual. - They’re not a cute couple as people often assume but rather behave more like siblings since Cedrick’s father and Tricia’s uncle work together; thus they have no choice but to see each other often. Tyrone wishes Tricia would like and date Cedrick, but Tricia has another boy from school in mind. Cedrick could care less about dating girls at his stage of life, but does occasionally get concerned for Tricia for making risky decisions affecting her well-being in the long run because he cares as a friend. — #digitalart #digitaldrawing #autodesksketchbook #drawing #ipadproart #ipadprodrawing #ipadart #ipaddrawing #characters #originalcharacters #malecharacter #femalecharacter #charactersheet #characterdesign #characterstudy #frauv8_ocs

Ouch. Then again, Tricia has always been mean towards Cedrick. But that’s why the mermaid is angry. Despite the mermaid’s hunger and desire to restore her beauty, Tricia isn’t a “pure maiden.” So who’s worthy of the mermaid’s bite? - I thought about coloring this, but again, I’m feeling lazy. Perhaps I’ll make character sheets next for a change of pace. — #digitalart #digitaldrawing #ipadart #ipaddrawing #ipadproart #ipadrodrawing #halftone #black #white #grey #gray #blackandwhite #blackandwhiteart #lineart #mangastyle #originalcharacters #malecharacter #doctor #man #mermaid #mermay2019 #mermay

Glasses off means the Herr Doktor is serious. And there’s a reason why the mermaid is very angry with Tricia, unable to bite her. - The Kaspers come from a long line of doctors who were also secretly taught about the occult, cryptozoology, and other mythical/mysterious creatures and occurrences (why Johannes Faustuz has a preserved creatures like the mermaid and talking fruit flies; it’s also why he and Cedrick can survive Freyja’s “Kracken Surprise” for dinner). So no, this isn’t their first time dealing with a revived mermaid. - Just out of curiosity, which ones do you like better: colored or black and white? Comment below!🤗 Keep in mind that colored pages take longer to make, so to progress with the story, it may not be an every page thing to do. — #digitalart #digitaldrawing #ipaddrawing #ipadart #ipadproart #ipadrodrawing #lineart #halftone #animestyle #mangastyle #originalcharacters #malecharacter #man #doctor #femalecharacters #girl #child #aquarium #mermaid #mermay2019 #mermay
