Some random Richard and Hedy scribblings...
🐈⬛
Richard had taken one of Hedy’s nine lives when he mistaken her for a Tatzelwurm in Aina’s greenhouse.
Hedy took an instant liking to him despite what he had done and the fact Richard isn’t much of a cat-person - especially being a Grim Reaper and cats being known for the association with life and death.
Richard also doesn’t like dealing with Sigrid’s neighbor/teacher Mr. Vannderhassen for numerous reasons, including the fact Hedy keeps running away and staying in the greenhouse or garden; regardless of the trouble, Richard does care about Hedy even though he calls her a pest.

Another random #sketchdump - this time in the modern era with Richard and Sigrid’s son Johannes Faustuz with wife Freyja Ström, son Cedrick, and cat Klimt.
-
Slide 2 is an old short from last year (when it was peak of the toilet paper shortage) featuring Klimt.

Another #sketchdump of Richard and Sigrid sans color with some character tidbits.
These two OCs were living around the late 1970s to early 1980s (they’re Hr. Dr. Kasper’s parents).

#sketchdump again…
It’s been awhile since I’ve posted anything, and it’s still going to be a long while before something will come to mind again…
Artist’s Block sucks…
Burnout sucks…
And my work schedule looks busy this week…😓

Another #sketchdump:
Studying/researching with Sigrid and Richard.
Whenever Sigrid had a lot of homework and papers to write, she’d ask her boyfriend if he could take her to the local university’s library for better resources (she attended a religious all-girls academy).
Sigrid initially didn’t expect Richard to be an academic person since he’s always getting rid of Tatzelwurms and capturing souls around her mother’s house while goofing off and wooing her - thus she assumed he’s more of a jock than a nerd (he was popular as a kid, the opposite of what she was).
But after accidentally bumping into him during a field trip to the local university, Sigrid saw his serious side as an Epidemiologist researching plant extracts for some of his patients’ illnesses (Freyja’s mother was one of Richard’s patients).
As their relationship progressed, Richard started helping Sigrid with her schoolwork, especially with Math, Science, and English; Sigrid would share her knowledge of plants with Richard since she and her mother Aina grew hundreds of them in their greenhouse that were used for potions and medicines.

Still stuck with Artist’s Block and burnout…
It’s another #sketchdump.
I probably should just draw my OCs wearing random outfits if I can’t think of anything else.
Sigrid is wearing a pair of Jellies sandals popular in the 1980s with her usual school attire.
She also has a very colorful sporty outfit she’d wear whenever she wants to drop by the local university’s library or arcade.
Richard has his signature scythe in hand and wearing his default outfit (wolf fur coat, blue bell bottoms, knitted turtleneck, Adidas Superstars, black leather gloves).
His other outfit is what Sigrid expects him to wear as the 1980s gets into full swing (she absolutely hates it when he wears stuff from the 1970s).

Finally got to drawing the Marvel characters fan arts prompt.
Didn’t get 6 this round, so I just went on with the 5 suggestions given to me; I also did them in a rainbow spectrum because colors are awesome.

Death Himself - Richard’s true form.
In each hand he holds the two souls of those he loved in his past life: his wife Sigrid and brother Heinrich.
-
I guess I’m in a grim mood (in a good way) after binge watching “TRESE” on Netflix (go watch it if you’re into the supernatural - and it’s a nice slice of Pinoy culture 🇵🇭 [I’m half so seeing something representing a part of my heritage is super exciting]).

“One eye blue, the other green which sees everything that can be seen.”
-
The Kaspers’ inherited trait “Odin’s Eye” is expressed as Heterochromia (Odd-Eyes).
When activated, the right green eye allows him to see how long someone or something has long to live and their other vitals, making him able to assess how to defeat monsters and when he should arrive to collect a person’s soul when their time is up; otherwise, his green eye is nearly useless in normal sight and needs glasses or contacts to reduce eye strain.
It’s easy to mistake a Kasper with glowing eyes as a cat in the dark; it’s a sign that either a monster is nearby or a soul needs collecting.

Lots of yellow…😳
2021 Pantone colors are grey and yellow too…
Maybe it’s too much, but it has Chartreuse in it which is one shade of yellow I don’t mind.
(Yellow is a color that makes me nervous; other colors that can get my skin crawling if it’s too saturated are Cyan and Lime Green)

Hello yellow my nemesis.💛
I have a love/hate relationship with yellow - it’s a color that I either find too bright and obnoxious or has just the right amount of pop when used as a hair color or for accessories.
I’m partial to chartreuse if I have to pick a specific shade of yellow, but it has a hint of green which might explain why I like it.
This shade of yellow is on the warm orangey end of the spectrum making it kinda neutral like a brown, which isn’t terrible either (again - not pure yellow).
Fashion-wise, 2021 has been super colorful so far with all the retro 1990s stuff that I vividly remember wearing as a little kid.
We definitely need all of the cheerful colors to brighten up our lives after the sh!tstorm called 2020.

Cedrick and Frl. Flicka.
Since quarantine, the two have been getting along better after spending so much time together.
But occasionally the Kaspers’ pet Hellhound/Doberman reverts back to her bad habits barking and chasing Cedrick around like cattle while she waits for her favorite master to come home from work.

1990s fashion with Hansel, Hannah, and Johannes.
I should draw them all grown up in modern 90s inspired styles since the OG 1990s was 30 years ago - I just love drawing outfits.
(I’m also getting old - my earliest vivid memories start from 1991 when I was 3 when “BEAUTY AND THE BEAST” first came out)

Sigrid and Richard out on another Summertime arcade date.
-
This was originally part of another sketch dump that I cut out because I liked it the most out of the three I drew, and I added in a partial arcade machine and dialogue to make it feel more complete.
(I’ll post up the original sketch dump in my Instastory and highlight it under “SIGRID’S DIARY” for future reference)

It’s June, so it’s time to let all the bright colors out! 🌈
-
This time Freyja is paired up with her favorite cousin Einar who loves fashion just as much as she does (if not more); they’re often mistaken as brother/sister siblings because they have similar physical features and share the same last name.
The two grew up together playing with dolls and dress-up, and as adults they still have fun wearing flashy outfits whenever they hang out.
Einar is often featured on Freyja’s TV show “FLASH FASHION” as a guest judge, and he portrays himself as a “sassy bitch who’s hard to please”.
Freyja does get annoyed with her cousin whenever he playfully flirts with her husband, but Einar enjoys doing so just to tease her (Hr. Dr. Kasper just smiles and plays along, often replying “Sorry Darling - Freyja found me first”).

Random sketch dump with Richard, Sigrid, and the stray neighborhood tomcat nicknamed Odin after “Odin’s Eye”, the Kaspers’ heterochromia ability to see spirits and monsters.
-
Odin is a white tomcat with odd-eyes who’d constantly meow and yowl late at night to attract the ladies.
Lately he hasn’t been roaming around as much due to his age, and has been staying over at Aina’s backyard where Hedy enjoys sleeping in the greenhouse; the two cats had been inseparable until Odin’s death a year later, resulting in three litters of kittens.
Like Hedy, Odin was very affectionate - especially towards Sigrid.
Richard doesn’t like cats (Grim Reapers hate cats for their 9 lives and chasing away dead souls that need capturing), but has a soft spot for Odin due to their many similarities and the fact Odin’s on his last life out of nine.

Another colored #sketchdump of Richard and Sigrid.
-
Still stuck with Artist Block but also having fun with patterns, colors, and fashion from the past; so far, I’m really loving fashion from the 70s and 80s (I also love music from that time period, especially Synth-Pop, New Wave, and Euro-Disco).
Maybe because it’s from an era long ago that looked magical growing up (I was a 90s kid).

Few more 1980s looks with these two: Richard’s dressed up for work at his doctor’s office and Sigrid is out of her school uniform for a change.
-
Artist Block is really bad - it just makes me doodle random character poses and outfits.
I’ll have to try drawing creatures next to see if anything’ll be interesting...
Maybe a note sheet on Leprechauns for St. Patrick’s day would do...
