Quick #charactersheet of Officer Rodriguez and Hr. Dr. Kasper. Hopefully my cursive is readable (I’ll write it all down in separate comments below). Slide 2 is an old pic from May 2018. — How did these two first characters meet? Granger was actually on patrol duty when Johannes Faustuz was out chasing after lost souls late at night. Initially she thought he was a mentally ill person on the loose, so she tackled him, handcuffed him, and stuffed him into the back of her tiny car. It wasn’t until she saw the glowing odd-colored eyes Granger realized she not only caught a Grim Reaper like herself, but a rare monster slayer of legends; she felt even more ashamed when she found out he’s also a doctor from her local hospital. Poor Faustuz had to be picked up by his father-in-law after Granger released him (you can imagine what that conversation was like when they hate each other); it’s also why whenever he hears police sirens nearby on the street, he gets panic attacks, afraid he’d be tackled, shoved into a tiny space, and taken away to an unknown location (pretty relevant right now for lots of people...😑) - Since then, their paths cross often since they both live/work in the Los Angeles area; occasionally they collaborate, but Granger doesn’t like newcomers encroaching on her home turf (she hasn’t met Cedrick yet, so...) Everyone is constantly looking through windows to see if it’s safe to go outside - or if their orders from Amazon has arrived yet. — Papa Kasper is still furloughed, just waiting to get back to work once he gets the green light to operate again. Even how he dresses has become more like pajamas since he no longer goes outside for meetings, lectures, consultations, anything that requires wearing a tie. Freyja loves the fact that this is the longest he’s ever been home from “normal” work, Cedrick is worried about his father feeling useless when his ward had been overtaken by COVID-19 beds (why he’s furloughed), and Grandpa is not very happy being forced to have daily “quarantine talks” with his son-in-law. The only thing that stays the same is that all the creatures (mythical critters and pets) living in the house still beg for their food, get daily walks or play sessions, and love him unconditionally. - And much to his dismay, Death has been knocking on the Kaspers’ door more often with a long list of lost souls and spirits to collect. Luckily he has Cedrick to help him out this time, and in rare occasion they’ll encounter Officer Granger Rodriguez, another local Grim Reaper (I’ve drawn her before, but it’s been a long time since; I should make a character sheet about her with Hr. 1980 when PAC-MAN made his debut outside of Japan. - Ever since she was a toddler, Sigrid has always been a fan of the arcade. She’d always beg her mother Aina for a coin and would play for hours nonstop with that one coin. Her classmates at high school think she’s a dork for liking video games, but little kids at the arcade love watching her play. Sigrid was pissed when she saw her high score on SPACE INVADERS was replaced by a new player - especially when she found out that player was Hr. Dr. Richard Kasper, the very man trying to woo her at her mother’s flower shop. Since becoming a couple, Richard lets Sigrid get first choice at the arcade and watches her play - he knows better than making her cry after loosing a hard-played game. - Nowadays, her son Johannes Faustuz has the same love for video games, which was also passed down to her grandson Cedrick. Quick drawing of these two guys (pre-COVID-19 days). It’s also #internationalfriendshipday today. - Dr. Williams and Hr. Dr. Kasper has been good friends for almost a decade, but they weren’t always the closest of friends at the beginning. Tyrone was quite the prankster when he was a medical student; Johannes Faustuz was substituting a Biology course for a week, and Tyrone mercilessly poked at him, cracking inappropriate jokes and teasing him for his serious demeanor. Once the week was finally over, Faustuz returns home to Kiel without saying goodbye. After a few years pass since, Tyrone was finally a practicing Pediatrician. One day he overhears coworkers talking about a new doctor hired for the Oncology ward; they mention how strange he was being unusually tall and thin, speaking with a heavy European accent, and having odd-colored eyes. Tyrone immediately snaps at them for bad-mouthing the newcomer, and then seeks out the doctor they were talking about. Nobody wants to do any challenges I make anyway.😛 - I hadn’t been posting much due to work trying to make up for lost time; I’m there from about 10:30am to 7:30pm 3-4 times a week, so I’m pretty much wiped out at the end of a day. I work for TV/Simulcast (I’m a Graphics Operator; basically I make those things on the screen that displays names, prices, results, etc.), so I’m considered “Essential”. You can say I’m keeping people entertained while they stay safe and quarantine at home, lol. It’s not a job I can work remotely, so... yeah... I’m doing my best being safe with lots of sanitizer and wearing my mask (a face shield might not be a bad idea since I work in a small space). This idea has been in the scrap pile for awhile, but might as well get it out there. — •1990: Johannes Faustuz Kasper walking the family dog Geri, a fawn Great Dane named after one of Odin’s two hunting hounds. At this point in life, 8-year-old Faustuz was teased for being small for his age (4 ft/122 cm); but like a Great Dane, in his teens he grows up quickly to a towering final height of 6’5”/195 cm. - •FACTS ABOUT GREAT DANES: Great Danes are HUGE dogs, standing at least 45 in/115 cm head to toe or 4 ft/125 cm in length (the largest one was 44 in/112 cm shoulder to toe and named Zeus). Despite the name, Great Danes are German not Danish...🤔 Hmm...🧐 Okay...🤨 From a little research, it’s a silly reason how they got their name: there was squabbling between Britain and Germany and the breed finally got its name from a picture of a dog in a French natural history book (my initial thought was that the dogs were from Jutland, where it has historically been back-and-forth being all German and all Danish; Jutland also happens to be the Kaspers’ homeland). They were bred to hunt boar, deer, and bear; they were also a popular guard dog for princes while they slept in their bedchambers. Great Danes are currently not as popular as they once were in the last 30-50 years with the memory of Scooby-Doo and Marmaduke fading away (I’m most familiar with Scooby-Doo with watching reruns and reboots in the 90s as a kid, but I know of Marmaduke because of reading one of my dad’s childhood books and there was a movie in 2010). Despite their big size, Great Danes are gentle giants. They require room, exercise, and lots of food.
