It feels a bit off…
I think it’s a combination of my brushes being too fat and being tired/lazy this round…😓
I’ve been feeling burnt out, and my right wrist has been hurting lately…😖
And yes, that’s my actual handwriting - I still write in cursive unlike most people my age and younger (it’s a lost art and great for calligraphy).

I’ve been having way too much fun drawing retro clothes; I actually had a suggestion to draw a late 1990s/early 2000s look featuring electronics like TAMAGOTCHI, so I’ll have to do some research…🧐

I’m gonna be fully vaccinated with my second dose of Moderna - yay!
So far, I can tell I’m going to have a super sore arm again (some movements are starting to feel slightly uncomfortable), but I won’t know for sure until tomorrow.
I’m still going to wear my masks because my work conditions don’t allow for proper social distancing, and better safe than sorry - especially indoors wherever I can’t maintain distance from other people (the “honor system” is BS here in America - I trust NOBODY after of all the crap the previous POTUS had said and done, and lots people will do and say whatever to not follow the rules regardless of the consequences).
-
Anyway…
In this short, Cedrick can finally be vaccinated like his papa - yay!
(but he still wants his driver’s permit at 14, lol; kids 12-15 can be vaccinated now).

Other version of the arcade idea I had, this time from behind and my usual art style with added effects.
I feel like I should draw these two again turned around - normally I don’t draw characters from behind.
-
Ever since Sigrid was really little, she loved going to the arcade.
Over the years she’s managed to beat games with only a coin and giving away her prize tickets to little kids to avoid trouble with other regular players; she’s close with the arcade owner and his family, calling him “Uncle Didier”.
Richard also enjoys playing arcade games; he and Sigrid would occasionally play against each other to see who would get the highest score.
As their relationship progressed, Richard lets Sigrid win more often to avoid having an angry girlfriend at the end of the date; if she lost, he would have to treat her with several ice cream cones to cool her temper (also being lactose intolerant makes going to an ice cream parlor awkward being pressured into buying a scoop for himself).
Their son Johannes Faustuz inherited their love of video games, being a big fan of playing games such as ZELDA, POKÉMON, and FINAL FANTASY as a kid in the 90s; he still has his original GAMEBOY, but isn’t too happy with his son Cedrick constantly playing with it.

Quick drawing.
Masked and unmasked.

While I appreciate the science to get to the point of not wearing masks, I’m still going to wear one because there’s lots of kiddos out there who can’t get the vaccine and are at risk of getting sick, my work environment doesn’t allow me to keep my distance from others within a confined area, it helps dealing with allergies and wildfire smoke, and there’s no reliable “Honor Code” here in America in regards to being vaccinated (seriously - I don’t have much trust for others while living in a country that’s still suffering from misinformation and having to encounter people who refuse following the rules no matter what).
Plus there’s actually quite a lot of fashionable masks, and in almost every near-future movie/TV show I’ve watched people wear masks and scarves as part of their attire (in the far-future it’s helmets).

Something from the “Scrap Pile”:
Sigrid’s Diary: 30 June 1980, the start of a long Summer of love.
-
Richard and Sigrid were officially a couple for several months at this point, but they tried to kept their relationship secret mainly because Sigrid attended an all-girls academy that prohibits dating (people were also wary of Richard constantly staying in a house where a single mother and her daughter lived in).
This was the longest time Richard stayed with Sigrid and her mother Aina after traveling, which was a great help with hundreds of plants growing in the greenhouse and a large litter of Tatzelwurms trying to invade the backyard again.
Richard also spent a lot of time trying to develop new medicine for his patients abroad using Aina’s rare plants - many resulting in failure or being too potent (he actually made a Tatzelwurm repellent that lasted a few days, the base his son Johannes Faustuz would use to make finally one that lasted indefinitely).
Sigrid and Richard spent each night of July and August either stargazing in the backyard with the cats Hedy and Odin, walking around the empty streets holding hands, watching movies/TV shows, singing and dancing along with the radio and old Disco records (Death’s favorite music is Disco), sleeping together in her bedroom, or playing the latest video games at the arcade (where classmates randomly saw Sigrid being romantic with Richard).
Richard eventually went back to Kiel in September, promising Sigrid he’ll be back as soon as he finishes work at his office.
But within a week, he rushed back to Copenhagen after hearing news of Sigrid’s expulsion from school.

Delivery for Sigrid!
… except she’s not happy with who came with it.
Actually…
She’ll be eating him as well.💀
-
Sigrid wasn’t always the nicest to Richard when they first met, especially knowing his past as a playboy, being a Kasper/Grim Reaper, and his age (Sigrid calls him an “old man”, but he’s not old - just older like a brother or cousin).
But deep down inside, Sigrid had always liked him and wanted to have him for herself.

I have way too much fun drawing pics like this - it’s no secret that I love drawing clothes on my OCs.
It’s like playing with paper dolls, only digital.
Only question is would anyone want to wear this outfit?

2nd slide shows the inspiration: a colorful 1980s collared linen shirt.

Chibi style this time!
I’ve had this idea in mind for a while, but never quite got to drawing it...
(It’s currently Spring, this is a Winter pic, and it’s going to be freaking Summer soon!)
-
Sigrid always hated Richard’s fur coat; the only time she ever liked her boyfriend’s coat was when it was Winter.
Whenever Sigrid started shivering while walking to and from school, Richard would rush over to wrap her inside his coat with a scarf for extra warmth and shelter from the snow.
Initially she would be embarrassed being seen with a man wearing an oversized fur coat (her school also forbids dating, making her even more nervous whenever they’re seen together in public), but quickly would be happy just to be warm and safe as he accompanied her home - often at Aina’s request (Aina didn’t want her daughter to walk home alone and get attacked by bullies again).
Sigrid would even occasionally snuggle up and hide herself completely inside Richard’s coat like a kangaroo’s pouch if she felt really cold (and wrote in her diary that she enjoyed doing so just to smell Richard’s cologne and hear his heartbeat).

Brief character notes about Hr. Dr. Kasper compared to his parents Richard and Sigrid.
-
Both parents died when he was very young, so he prefers not to talk about them for lots of reasons.
He does remember his father Richard singing him to sleep as a toddler, but nothing else.
Which parent does he resembles the most?
People say he’s spitting image of his father Richard, but his grandmother Aina says he takes after his mother Sigrid.

Johannes Faustuz wearing Richard’s fur coat as a cape on top of the expensive clothes Freyja dressed him up with (reference for shirt in last slide).
-
Like his mother Sigrid, Faustuz never really liked his father’s coat - it’s ridiculously heavy, fluffy, and oversized (Sigrid did admit that she loved how warm it was whenever Richard held her during walks in the winter).
It’s one of the many things he inherited from his father - aside from daily journals, tape recordings, photos, vinyl albums, t-shirts, watches, and his 1981 red Volkswagen Beetle.
But in rare occasions, he will wear the coat to “put it to use”; Richard wore it to show off whenever he could, while his son wears it to cover up the elaborate stuff Freyja makes him wear in formal events.

Freyja’s homemade specialty:
Kraken Surprise - Swedish Meatballs, Bratwurst, Sauerkraut, Mashed Potatoes, Lingonberry Gravy, and a Kraken’s Leg.
🦑
Freyja takes pride in making this dish for her husband and son, but her boys hide from fear whenever she makes it (her father Erik enjoys eating his plate with no problems, proving only a Ström can master the Kraken).
-
So what’s the surprise?
It’s either how bad it tastes (Freyja’s not a great cook, and sometimes would add additional food items that would affect taste and texture), or the fact that the kraken legs will stick on like face huggers from “Aliens” (both father and son would harpoon their kraken legs for hours until they stop moving).
Freyja takes offense if anyone at home refuses to eat her specialty dish, therefore she takes extreme measures to make sure her family is “fed properly”.
