Johannes takes offense being called a Slob when he’s known for his impeccable attention to detail and clean, efficient methods on the operating table; ever since whenever he’s subbing for his colleague Vinnie, Johannes puts a lot of effort into his outfits. Johannes and his father Richard who’s supposed to be “dead” in his role as Death Himself. 💀 Four years after Sigrid’s death, Richard’s body began rapidly losing its ability to retain its mortal human form, a sign from Fate Herself that he was needed back in the Underworld indefinitely. Richard knew that he had to contact his older brother Heinrich to pick up his son Johannes while he still could. He gave his son one last pat and kiss on the head as a human, not knowing when he would ever be able to do so again. Johannes was confused and scared when he woke up with his uncle and his family, wondering where his father had gone. For years, Johannes had believed that his father had died from a lung infection due to disease, but as he got older, he started to suspect that there was more to the story. When Heinrich died, Johannes briefly saw his father again as Death, and he finally learned the truth about Richard’s identity. Johannes was bitter about how his father had left him and was not proud of the infamous legacy that Richard had left behind. Richard was Europe’s most powerful Reaper, but he was also known for being a Playboy and for marrying Sigrid, a Wicca girl who was less than half his age. Death still occasionally returned to his human form when summoned by a direct descendant of the Kasper Family or when he was sent by Fate to assist Reapers in fighting God-Class Monsters. Whenever he was in human form as Richard, Death tried his best to make amends with his son. Back to the 1980s with Sigrid and Richard… As their relationship deepened, Richard found himself becoming more and more devoted to Sigrid, especially knowing that her life curse would prevent them from being together for long. He hoped to ease her heartbreak from her failed attempt of romance with her childhood crush Batty, and showered her with all the love and affection he could muster. Sigrid was taken aback by the intensity of his affection at first, but soon found herself craving it whenever Richard had to depart for work or his responsibilities as Death. The enchantress academy strictly forbade students from dating until after they graduate at around the age of 21, forcing Sigrid and Richard to keep their love a secret in public, minimizing their physical touch and conversations. But once they found themselves alone, they couldn't help but steal kisses and whisper declarations of their undying love to each other. Hard to say which of the two are more elusive, Freyja or Hr. Dr. Kasper. Both are Type A career-driven people from distinct bloodlines within the Occult Community - Freyja’s being directly descended from Viking royalty while Johannes comes from a family viewed as scheming and evil due to historical associations (i.e. Witch Hunts, Bodysnatching, Holocaust, Etc.) and having close ties with Death Himself (he’s actually the son of Death and a Wicca girl whom herself has an interesting background amongst the Occult Community as the disowned daughter of Denmark’s strongest Warlock). At the hospital or university, not many people know Hr. Dr. Kasper’s wife, who she is, or even if he’s married despite having a son (people can have kids without marriage or even permanent partners with adoption and surrogacy being a thing these days). As for Freyja, she keeps her private life out of the spotlight as much as possible in addition with her husband and son having pseudonyms under the Ström Family name (Jonah-Fritz and Magnus respectively; Freyja’s pseudonym is Freida when referring herself as a Kasper). Johannes 🆚 Cedrick (2000s Fashion versus 2020s Fashion) As a teenager, Johannes quickly transitioned from looking like a Backstreet Boy into an Emo/Goth Boy. He even tried dying his hair black many times only to have it end up grey or green (he has platinum blond hair). Because of this awkward phase and drastic change of appearance, Johannes doesn’t like sharing photos of his mid-late teen years (but his son Cedrick has been finding them and is eager to show them). But she’s also curious about the past century’s tech, music, and fashion so she often asks about stuff he, her uncle Tyrone, and aunt Asia used back then. - Being a Millennial born sometime in the 1980s, Hr. Dr. Kasper’s been really hit hard with the latest retro (especially Y2K) trends going on - he was his son Cedrick’s age around at that time (14 - 16 years old). OC Tricia Williams with a selfie and boba tea. 🧋 Seeing some current Y2K fashion trends made me want to draw this quick pic (makes sense since she’s Gen Z who’s obsessed with anything dating between 198X-200X right now [Cedrick would actually be Gen Alpha, considering my OCs were originally supposed to be set in the 2030s]). I have a quick skit in mind with her teasing her substitute professor wearing JNCO Jeans and other Y2K stuff in his younger years (Hr. 1980s look in blue, pink, & deathly green. (it’s like Aurora - can’t choose which color) - Sigrid’s coloring looks best with blue, but her favorite color is pink; Death is often associated with the color green as in something rotten and toxic (it’s also the color I often use for the Kaspers because of their association with Death as Grim Reapers). Sigrid is a Witch (Wicca class), which is why her green look has a hat (during spell demonstrations Witches wear their hats to distinguish themselves apart from observers). Went a little bit crazy drawing clothes on OCs again, this time with all 4 Kasper Grim Reapers together in normal human form. Our main 3 Kaspers (Cedrick, Johannes, & Richard) are what many in the western world traditionally think of Grim Reapers wielding scythes and have skeletal forms (Heinrich was a Grim Reaper before giving up his title and role as heir of the Kasper Family; he briefly reprised his duty as one while raising Johannes when Richard had to return to his true identity as Death indefinitely). Hansel is a special case - normally a Kasper has to have “Odin’s Eye” to become a Reaper (Heterochromia with the ability to see everything living and dead as well as vitals simultaneously), but through his mother’s side Hansel is distantly descended from a line of Jeoseung Saja (Korean Grim Reapers) and deals with souls in a different manner via talismans and chants (Hansel is Japanese/Korean and German/Danish). Richard is drawn much older here (80-85 years old) due to him adjusting his “human age” had he still remained “alive” whenever he’s briefly summoned back to the living world; the youngest age he can return as human is when he “died”, which happens to be about the same as his son Johannes’ current physical age (it’s similar for Sigrid’s soul if transformed into a Genganger - she can only be physically the age when she died). As members of the occult community, the Kaspers can live for centuries using inherited magic. Wicca’s Notes (Similar to “Wunderkind’s Notes”, but it’s Sigrid instead of Cedrick): Activation Potions 🧪 All Witches once had to use Potions to cast spells, until one day about 1,000 years ago a new mutation allowed many to be able to tap into their “Magical Potential” (MP) directly to cast spells; because of this mutation, it divided Witches into 2 classes: Wicca (the original Witch) and Enchantress (the new Witch). Since Enchantresses can easily hide their magical abilities from Non-magical Humans, Wicca had been persecuted and killed nearly to the point of extinction over many centuries; Enchantresses also over time began to associate less with Wicca and deemed them “inferior” despite heavily relying on them to make Potions on their behalf (most Enchantresses have no knowledge of potion making unless they were taught via academy). Wicca have slightly longer lifespans than Enchantresses, perhaps because they don’t directly have access to their MP (Witches on average live up to 500 years, but can extend it via Life Potion - a difficult recipe obtained by Nature/Life Herself; a Warlock (Male Witch) can live up to 200 years unless he extends it via Life Curse - a pact with Death Himself promising a soul of someone precious). Sigrid is a “Baby Witch” being only 15-17 years old (compared to her distant cousin Kiya who looks 16 but was born in the 1940s), but she has been studying and practicing to prove herself just as powerful as any Enchantress at the academy (she also has an extremely high amount of MP due to a random mutation). Sigrid usually has the most difficult time attracting viewers because she’s often immediately seen as weak and disregarded as the school’s only Wicca unable to cast spells without the use of Activation Potions. #sketchdump featuring Sigrid’s younger half-brother Torben & their father Samuel. Torben physically takes after his mother (blond hair & brown eyes), but has a similar sweet demeanor like his older sibling. He’s extremely attached to Sigrid, making him protective towards his classmates at the boys academy (many of them have crushes on her). He personally didn’t like Sigrid’s childhood crush Batty due to his overall cold behavior - especially towards Sigrid and children in general. On the other hand, Torben was more than happy meeting Richard seeing how well he treats Sigrid and would return lost balls & toys back to the neighborhood kids; he also thinks Grim Reapers are more interesting than Warlocks because they not only can use teleportation spells but also weapons to fight monsters & collect lost souls. Samuel is Denmark’s strongest Warlock; he appears to be a man in his 50s, but is over 200 years old & extends his lifespan through life curses, placing him under Death’s watchlist. Being a proud man, he cursed Sigrid mainly because she wasn’t born a son or even an Enchantress, but also because his daughter was born with a mutation that gave her so much more “Magical Potential” than any European Warlock on record. Because he cursed their daughter, Aina changed her name and left with Sigrid to set up her flower & oddities shop. Samuel soon remarried to the Enchantress headmistress Sarah, having Torben a few years later; because Sarah still wanted a daughter, he tolerated her request to allow Sigrid to attend her academy until the life curse takes effect.
