Went a little bit crazy drawing clothes on OCs again, this time with all 4 Kasper Grim Reapers together in normal human form.
Our main 3 Kaspers (Cedrick, Johannes, & Richard) are what many in the western world traditionally think of Grim Reapers wielding scythes and have skeletal forms (Heinrich was a Grim Reaper before giving up his title and role as heir of the Kasper Family; he briefly reprised his duty as one while raising Johannes when Richard had to return to his true identity as Death indefinitely).
Hansel is a special case - normally a Kasper has to have “Odin’s Eye” to become a Reaper (Heterochromia with the ability to see everything living and dead as well as vitals simultaneously), but through his mother’s side Hansel is distantly descended from a line of Jeoseung Saja (Korean Grim Reapers) and deals with souls in a different manner via talismans and chants (Hansel is Japanese/Korean and German/Danish).
Richard is drawn much older here (80-85 years old) due to him adjusting his “human age” had he still remained “alive” whenever he’s briefly summoned back to the living world; the youngest age he can return as human is when he “died”, which happens to be about the same as his son Johannes’ current physical age (it’s similar for Sigrid’s soul if transformed into a Genganger - she can only be physically the age when she died).
As members of the occult community, the Kaspers can live for centuries using inherited magic.
Richard is actually a “Entity” or “Deity” as Death Himself and has been in existence for over 300,000 years; it’s heavily hinted that Johannes and Cedrick are also Entities since they’re directly descended from Death and their physical appearances change whether they take up the task as Grim Reaper, but it’s unknown whether they have to permanently change and give up being human if they’re called to the Underworld.

He claims to hate them, especially when they have multiple lives (it’s like the game “Wack-A-Mole” to him) and chase souls as if they’re yarn balls (making his basic task of collecting souls more difficult), but deep down within the dark void of his hollow rib cage Death has a soft spot for them due to their affection towards him and occasional gift of lost souls they managed to catch.
Though all cats can see souls, cats with odd-eye also share his ability to simultaneously see both living and death beings (many cultures see Heterochromia as magical, the green/brown eye representing the Earth and life, while the blue represents Heaven and death).

Batty was a very stoic guy who showed little affection yet all the girls in the neighborhood adored him for his dark hair and striking sapphire-blue eyes.
Batty also joined the police academy soon after graduating High School and returned home as a rookie cop, putting an uniform on top of his good looks.
Sigrid had been in love with him since they first met as children at his father’s arcade, but Batty rejected her confession in favor for another schoolmate at her academy (as the neighborhood’s beau he thought should date the most beautiful girl around).
He also knew of her shortened lifespan due to her father’s curse, adding to his view of Sigrid “as a waste of his time”.
After Richard first appeared helping out at Sigrid’s mother’s flower shop, Batty started feeling suspicious and jealous mainly because he was spending a lot of time with Sigrid and taking her attention away (Batty also didn’t like the fact Richard was a foreigner, much older, and comes from an occult family notorious for partaking in history’s unfortunate events).
As Sigrid and Richard’s relationship blossomed, Batty’s own romance was quickly crumbling apart - adding to his disgust towards the man he sees as his rival (his engagement was broken, he was expecting twins with his ex-fiancée, and he was being sent to another city’s police department away from his immediate family).
It wasn’t until after news of Sigrid’s death he regretted not reciprocating her love and wondered how different his life would’ve been if he had dated and married her instead (it’s why Batty has complicated feelings whenever Johannes visits Copenhagen - he pities him not growing up knowing his mother Sigrid but also detests him since he physically takes after his father Richard).

Their personalities may be opposites of each other, but like peanut butter and jelly they’re inseparable when they’re put together - especially when hunting monsters and collecting souls as Grim Reapers.
Heinrich is always around to pull the reins on Richard’s impulsive behavior while Richard tags along to make sure Heinrich has a fun time no matter what.
Ever since their mother left their father, the brothers made a pact to stick together and watch over each other.
This bond was tested when Heinrich broke his betrothal with Sonja and married Yoko instead, forcing the duties of Heir to Richard despite being the younger son and incarnation of Death with a limited lifespan (he expected to live a carefree playboy life); but with the birth of Hansel & Hannah (Death has a soft spot for children, always reluctant to take souls from them because of wasted potential), Richard reaffirmed his oath with Heinrich and took his role as Heir more seriously by taking their father’s ultimatum - accepting an arranged engagement with an Enchantresses named Sheila.
But since becoming bankrupt and losing his medical practice due to her frivolous spending, Richard broke off his engagement with Sheila and now takes up random jobs within the occult community.
Heinrich & Yoko had offered to let him stay in their house, but Richard mainly stays in a distant cousin’s hotel in Copenhagen where he can keep a close eye on his latest assignment sent directly from Fate: observing a teen girl named Sigrid with a rare Life Curse set to go off within 2-5 years.
Heinrich doesn’t like the fact Richard is dating Sigrid now, but he sees the positive changes in Richard’s demeanor.

• Death’s Incarnation’s Full Name:
Richard Gottfried Kasper
I gave my version of Death the first name “Richard” which means “strong king” or “brave ruler” - referring to his role as the ultimate ruler of all souls when it’s time to collect them.
His older brother Heinrich gave him the name Richard when their parents were too upset having a second son and learning he was Death given a chance to be temporarily human (this lead to their mother eloping with an American soldier and having the daughter she desired, and Richard was treated harshly by their father in response - thus making him retaliate by attracting attention being a cruel Grim Reaper and heartbreaking playboy); the two brothers were close despite their opposite personalities and age gap.
His middle name is a Germanic version of “Geoffrey” / “Jeffery” meaning “peace of God”, which again points to his role as Death (he prefers people live a full life before putting them to rest but isn’t afraid to snatch up a few extra souls if they’re easy pickings).
[and yes… people had pointed out his resemblance to a certain Jeff when he wears glasses… 😑 But his appearance is actually based off of Mr. Death in “The Twilight Zone” episode “Nothing in the Dark” portrayed by Robert Redford]
His last name “Kasper” is a Germanic/Scandinavian version of “Jasper” derived from a Hebrew word meaning “treasurer” - also alluding to his family’s role of collecting souls (also it’s a variation of the name “Casper” which most associate with the fictional ghost).
The Kasper Family is also based in Kiel which is located on Jutland that has been part of Denmark for many centuries, meaning they’re actually ethnically Danish not German (Jutland is currently split between Denmark & Germany, and their hometown is now part of Germany which is why they’re listed as “German” on their character sheets).

Activation Potions 🧪
All Witches once had to use Potions to cast spells, until one day about 1,000 years ago a new mutation allowed many to be able to tap into their “Magical Potential” (MP) directly to cast spells; because of this mutation, it divided Witches into 2 classes: Wicca (the original Witch) and Enchantress (the new Witch).
Since Enchantresses can easily hide their magical abilities from Non-magical Humans, Wicca had been persecuted and killed nearly to the point of extinction over many centuries; Enchantresses also over time began to associate less with Wicca and deemed them “inferior” despite heavily relying on them to make Potions on their behalf (most Enchantresses have no knowledge of potion making unless they were taught via academy).
Wicca have slightly longer lifespans than Enchantresses, perhaps because they don’t directly have access to their MP (Witches on average live up to 500 years, but can extend it via Life Potion - a difficult recipe obtained by Nature/Life Herself; a Warlock (Male Witch) can live up to 200 years unless he extends it via Life Curse - a pact with Death Himself promising a soul of someone precious).
Sigrid is a “Baby Witch” being only 15-17 years old (compared to her distant cousin Kiya who looks 16 but was born in the 1940s), but she has been studying and practicing to prove herself just as powerful as any Enchantress at the academy (she also has an extremely high amount of MP due to a random mutation).
But this requires drinking a lot of Activation Potions, which often get stolen and shattered by bullying classmates (leading to the creation of concentrated potion capsules she could easily swallow).

#sketchdump featuring Sigrid’s younger half-brother Torben & their father Samuel.
Torben physically takes after his mother (blond hair & brown eyes), but has a similar sweet demeanor like his older sibling.
He’s extremely attached to Sigrid, making him protective towards his classmates at the boys academy (many of them have crushes on her).
He personally didn’t like Sigrid’s childhood crush Batty due to his overall cold behavior - especially towards Sigrid and children in general.
On the other hand, Torben was more than happy meeting Richard seeing how well he treats Sigrid and would return lost balls & toys back to the neighborhood kids; he also thinks Grim Reapers are more interesting than Warlocks because they not only can use teleportation spells but also weapons to fight monsters & collect lost souls.
Samuel is Denmark’s strongest Warlock; he appears to be a man in his 50s, but is over 200 years old & extends his lifespan through life curses, placing him under Death’s watchlist.
Being a proud man, he cursed Sigrid mainly because she wasn’t born a son or even an Enchantress, but also because his daughter was born with a mutation that gave her so much more “Magical Potential” than any European Warlock on record.
Because he cursed their daughter, Aina changed her name and left with Sigrid to set up her flower & oddities shop.
Samuel soon remarried to the Enchantress headmistress Sarah, having Torben a few years later; because Sarah still wanted a daughter, he tolerated her request to allow Sigrid to attend her academy until the life curse takes effect.
Samuel is suspicious of Richard not collecting Sigrid’s soul as her assigned Grim Reaper, but also because he’s the talk of Europe since becoming the new heir of the Kasper bloodline and is Europe’s most powerful man in the occult community; he hopes that there’s no romance between Richard & Sigrid in fear that any child born would replace him (it’s the reason why Sigrid’s death was set before her 20th birthday - making her so young to have a relationship).

Sigrid was still bitter about being rejected by Batty on Valentine’s Day 2 months prior; she’s also slowly getting more used to Richard’s presence as her assigned Reaper observing the status of her soul (as well being occasional Handyman and Tatzelwurm exterminator at her mother’s flower shop).
She was aware her mother wanted her to pair up with Richard, and knows he really liked her but kept his emotions to a minimum by giving her glances, compliments, and surprise gifts (only after spending the night together when he was lovesick they started becoming more affectionate with each other).
Sigrid admits she finds Richard attractive and that he looks like a popular actor at the time, but didn’t like the fact that he’s a descendant of a family known for killing Witches in the distant past (as well as other historical atrocities such as bodysnatching and experimentation on humans), has a “Bad Boy” reputation as a Playboy, is so much older that he could pass by as a distant cousin or her guardian, and wears clothes from the past decade (he does slowly upgrade his wardrobe when they start dating).
Over the months leading up to the official start of their romance, Sigrid grew to love his “goofy smile and feathered hair”, his terrible Danish with a German accent (he also speak perfect English with an American accent, another turn on for Sigrid), his scent (combination of sweat, formaldehyde, and CK Obsession cologne), and how his odd-colored eyes would gently blink as he placed his coat over her shoulders for warmth.
She was also surprised how much he enjoys playing arcade games, watches American movies and TV, listens to (and sings) popular songs, and is really good with computers and other new tech in the 1980s - proving that he’s been a good match for her all along.
