Green with the Kasper Brothers 🟢 Green is the color I use most often for the Kaspers because of its association with many things villainous, magical, and deadly (aside from positivity, earthly, and lively- in regard to nature). The Kasper Family has a close affinity with Death, having hot tempers, twisted sense of humors, and being involved with heinous acts in the past - giving them a notorious reputation within the Occult Community as “Evil” and “Monstrous”. Despite their dark history and reputation, positive traits of the Kasper Family are their quality of work, efficiency in completing tasks, and their expression of love and commitment to their family members - especially towards their significant others (i.e. Heinrich gives Yoko a kiss on the forehead every morning waking up; Richard always left small boxed gifts for Sigrid after they spent the night together). The layout and art style are also a bit similar to those on retro clothing pattern packs. And it’s #fridaythe13th - also the same day of the week Cedrick was born. - Friday the thirteenth might be seen as an omen of bad luck by many, but for a family deeply entrenched in the occult, it was an auspicious day for a birth. This particular Friday the thirteenth held a special significance, not only for the newborn but also for his parents and grandfather. Freyja's pregnancy had been marked by tremendous difficulty, exacerbated by a relentless Aswang that had pursued her all the way from Los Angeles to Kiel, the Kasper family's hometown, where the birth was to take place. Johannes, in the midst of his medical residency in Kiel, had urgently called Erik, Freyja's father and the patriarch of the Ström family, informing him of the dire situation. He needed Erik to eliminate the Aswang threat so he could be present for the birth of their child. Erik wasted no time, immediately grabbing his personal arsenal of occult weaponry and embarking on the journey from Stockholm to Kiel. Battling the Aswang was no small feat, and the confrontation was fierce. In the midst of this supernatural battle, Cedrick arrived into the world two months prematurely, born in an emergency operating room. Back then, life was a whirlwind of responsibilities, as he juggled caring for his recovering wife, tending to a newborn, and launching his career as a doctor. Although Freyja occasionally appreciated the rugged look of her husband with a beard, Cedrick felt it was a tad excessive when it made Johannes resemble Opa Erik a bit too closely. A little practice after almost 2 years being tortured by Duolingo - and I still think I’m no good.🥲 … Well, I’m actually doing good reading German and French, though spelling words without a Wörterbuch is a NIGHTMARE. 💀 Listening is a little hit-‘n-miss, but I’m able to understand some phrases without looking at the subtitles on Netflix. Each language has their quirk and frustrations (i.e. FRENCH with their stupid silent letters, GERMAN with split verbs and 3 “Genders”), but sometimes I’m having fun and blaze through my lessons with ease. (And for anyone wondering, yes I still write most of my notes in cursive - or what some jokingly call “Doctor Writings” because so many can’t read cursive at all these days and it looks a lot like a handwritten doctor’s prescription) - In Sigrid’s pic, some of her labels have Danish in red underneath the German showing how very similar those words are (makes sense since Denmark and Germany are right next to each other). My pics are also cutoff in order to fit the 4:5 ratio, so not everything is in frame (original format for both are 2:3). I had a lot of fun with each color scheme, one being warm and the other cool in tone (the pics are also complementary to each other). So my method isn’t quite 100% using AI - it’s a lot of work by me stitching, painting, and composting the character and then using AI and various apps to enhance and clean up for the final image (in other words, it’s still a lot of work by me the human). - As for this guy, he’s all dressed up for his other day job as a Substitute University Professor. Normally Johannes wears scrubs and crocs or wrinkled collared shirts, khaki pants, and loafers whenever he’s working at the hospital as Surgical Oncologist for simplicity and practicality (he also prefers to wear minimal amount of clothing for comfort); but when he first started teaching, students had called him a “Slob” when he showed up in his usual attire with a white lab coat on top. Johannes takes offense being called a Slob when he’s known for his impeccable attention to detail and clean, efficient methods on the operating table; ever since whenever he’s subbing for his colleague Vinnie, Johannes puts a lot of effort into his outfits. Back to the 1980s with Johannes’ parents Richard (Death) and Sigrid. - Richard was stuck a decade behind in the 1970s for 2 major reasons: he really loved the Disco aesthetic and couldn’t afford to upgrade anything he owned due to financial difficulties (his ex-fiancée Sheila drained all of his accounts dry - leading him to declare bankruptcy, close his private practice, and work odd jobs within the Occult Community to pay off his debts). He’s also frugal guy so he doesn’t like wasting money on new fashion and cars if his current items are still in good condition and can be repaired with little to no cost (he repairs his 1969 VW Beetle himself and buys the latest tech second-hand if possible). Because of his dated appearance, Sigrid would jokingly call him “Old Man” even though he’s “not that old” as a Human (as a Deity he’s over 350,000 years old, but it’s not exactly known how old he was as a Human in the 1980s).
