Congratulations to Spain — the first country to have both the men’s and women’s World Cup titles simultaneously. 🇪🇸
And Yamal’s little brother Keyne was sooo~ cute! ❤️
Am I happy Spain won despite not being in my top team list?
Absolutely. 💯
The Spanish team played well, I like their young star player Lamine Yamal, and it’s fitting that Messi’s career sunsetted on the success of the baby whom he photographed with almost 20 years ago.
Spain also stood up to 🍊in denying him the use of their bases, and despite liking Messi, I don’t like how Argentina was supported by people who promote ideas that aren’t very admirable (Spain is also the parent country of Mexico, Argentina, and my mother’s home country the Philippines, so it makes more sense to root for Spain in that context as well 🙃).
So yes — great job España! 👏

So… I guess that means I’ll have to make Mbappé next? 🙃
It’s pretty eminent that I’m Team Algae Green—
Or should I call it “American Blue”? 💀
[seriously, I’m really enjoying the Schadenfreude going on in D.C. — aside from the WORLD CUP going on 🌎]
I have my OC Cedrick dressed up for the World Cup for USA and DEUTSCHLAND, with a nod to the late and great Oliver Tree with his goofy red sunglasses (I was at a loss of words when a friend told me he died when we were carpooling to work 😭).
For which teams I’m rooting for…
I live in the US and Team USA has been doing really good this year, but I’m also cheering on my usual other teams: Germany, France, Netherlands, and Japan (I also have a soft spot for Mexico because I’m from California, and I like Argentina because MESSI; Spain is good, same with Norway 🙂 Brazil has always been “Meh” to me, Belgium… Korea… Italy…😒).
But I won’t get mad if a country like Cabo Verde or Egypt wins 🙃 (I like when underdog countries sneak in, and I would be really happy if an Asian or African team wins for once).
As for the song, “1” just seems to be a better pick than “Goals” based on vibes — just for once focus on the good news and enjoy each other’s company while the globe is playing ⚽️

Taking a late nighttime stroll after part-time work at the university…
In addition to observing Sigrid and occasionally helping out at Aina’s flower shop as a handyman, Richard splits his time hunting rogue monsters, capturing lost souls, and working part-time at a nearby university in Copenhagen as a lab assistant. Leveraging his background as an epidemiologist, this job helps him manage the financial strain left by his former fiancée, Sheila, who left him with substantial debts. Determined to recover his credit independently, Richard has been refused assistance from his family, who cut him off financially after he ended the engagement.
With multiple jobs and little interest in marriage despite his father’s insistence, Richard’s appearance has taken a backseat—until he met Sigrid. She wasted no time poking fun at his dated attire, giving him reason to pay more attention to his wardrobe. Meeting Sigrid also came with another adjustment: tolerating cats. As Death incarnate, Richard naturally attracts their attention, and although he dislikes their playful obsession with souls, he finds himself slowly growing attached to Hedy and Odin. Spending time with them, he begins to appreciate their peculiar companionship and finds himself less resistant to their presence.

Happy Birthday Zeddy! 🥳
—
Cedrick was my first official original character since about 2005/2006 when I was a teenager (yes, I’m THAT OLD).
Though he’s forever stuck at approximately the age of 14-15, if he was a real person he’d be all grown up at 18! 😱
(which is further painful to think about because I actually have former classmates who have kids that age, but only because they got pregnant as teenagers themselves)

Happy Birthday to my OC - Junior Grim Reaper Cedrick Kasper! And it’s #fridaythe13th - also the same day of the week Cedrick was born.
-
Friday the thirteenth might be seen as an omen of bad luck by many, but for a family deeply entrenched in the occult, it was an auspicious day for a birth. This particular Friday the thirteenth held a special significance, not only for the newborn but also for his parents and grandfather.
Freyja's pregnancy had been marked by tremendous difficulty, exacerbated by a relentless Aswang that had pursued her all the way from Los Angeles to Kiel, the Kasper family's hometown, where the birth was to take place. Johannes, in the midst of his medical residency in Kiel, had urgently called Erik, Freyja's father and the patriarch of the Ström family, informing him of the dire situation. He needed Erik to eliminate the Aswang threat so he could be present for the birth of their child.
Erik wasted no time, immediately grabbing his personal arsenal of occult weaponry and embarking on the journey from Stockholm to Kiel. Battling the Aswang was no small feat, and the confrontation was fierce. In the midst of this supernatural battle, Cedrick arrived into the world two months prematurely, born in an emergency operating room. Following the successful vanquishing of the Aswang, Erik hurried to check on the condition of his daughter and the newborn baby. His presence at the hospital came as a surprise to Freyja. Initially, Erik was disappointed that the baby was a boy. However, the sight of his fragile grandson, who seemed to smile at him from within the incubator, melted his heart. Determined to repair his strained relationship with Freyja and to forge a connection with his son-in-law Johannes for the sake of their family, Erik pledged to make amends.

5/16 OCs: Einar Ström drawn in the style of YU-GI-OH!
Einar stands as one of Freyja's four male cousins, positioned third in the line-up. Born to Sven, Erik's youngest sibling, and elder to Gunnar, Einar enjoys a special place in Freyja's heart, their shared interests notably including a passion for fashion and dressing up. Collaborating as co-hosts for the television show "FLASH FASHION," they display their shared flair, while in their family enterprise, Einar's purview is the financial domain. Openly embracing his identity, Einar identifies as gay, a truth that unfolded progressively alongside the stories of his siblings and cousins, who were all taken under the wing of Erik and Sonja after being estranged from the family estate due to their parents’ opposition to their grandfather Aki's decree that pronounced Freyja heir to STRÖM INDUSTRIES & CORPORATIONS. With an affinity for the finer things in life, Einar's penchant for opulence is well-known, as is his trail of relationships with various boyfriends through the years. In playful jest, he engages in harmless flirting with Johannes, a move intended to rib his cousin Freyja, though the nature of his connection with her husband remains a mystery. Einar also possesses a supernatural gift, enabling him to briefly manipulate thoughts and read minds, albeit at the price of enduring intense migraines for the remainder of the day.

The second of 16 OCs redrawn in their assigned art style:
Granger Rodriguez - DRAGON BALL
I never got into Dragon Ball or its later iterations, but I’m familiar with some of the lore and art style because I had friends and family members who did watch it regularly (I know it’s loosely based off the MONKEY KING folklore).
Granger, a Grim Reaper based in America, is Death's capable Secretary who also adeptly disguises herself as a local police officer. Despite her youthful appearance of a woman around 30 years old, she boasts an astonishing age of over 600 years. Emerging as the eldest sibling in a family of three, Granger's lineage stems from the union of a Spanish Warlock, posing as a priest, and a Mestiza Native American Wicca. Her siblings include Carmen, a Junior Reaper who takes on the appearance of a high school student, and Tobias, her youngest brother who maintains the visage of a 10-year-old child. With a penchant for playful taunting and a knack for getting under Hr. Dr. Kasper's skin, Granger's unique connection to Death makes her the go-to for direct assignments from the Reaper himself, even though she harbors some aversion to the Kaspers residing within her family's territory.

The first of 16 OCs redrawn in their assigned art style:
Tricia Williams - ONE PIECE
I thought it would be interesting to draw Tricia in this style considering there’s a lot of female characters in the series (I got left behind many years ago - I just started High School when I first read it in SHONEN JUMP and watched the anime, and I wasn’t able to keep up when I started College 💀).

On Instagram I had a poll on what hair colors I should focus on, and of course it was a tie between the pink and blue. 🩷💀🩵 So I ended up switching between all the hair colors as the final solution - and it’s a bit of work to do only to get a few views lol. Oh well… 🙃 I’ll make something else whenever I’m not feeling dead from work…
(I actually wanted to do something else with the same song playing, but it’s going to be a lot of planning to make it…)
It’s two of my younger OCs Tricia Williams and Cedrick Kasper (Gen Z/Gen Alpha) clad in Barbiecore Pink. Tricia is loving the pink, but Cedrick is way past done with it (he actually likes neon green, black, and orange - basically Halloween colors considering his birthday is in October). It’s also not often seeing Cedrick’s hair in other colors besides his natural platinum blond, though he’s known to occasionally dye half his hair for fun (blue is his favorite hair color). Tricia usually has her hair natural or in afro-puffs/buns, but she does enjoy having long braids and nails whenever she’s on break from playing volleyball for College/University.
