“Hi! I’m Cedrick!” (I’ve been grilled on Duolingo so much to use „Ich heiße…“, but I’ve also seen/heard „Ich bin...“ and „Mein Name ist…“ used; it’s hard to say what’s the preferred/proper way when all 3 ways are said to be correct 😐) Cedrick Kasper was my first official OC I made all the way back circa 2005-2006. His original design was quite messy (he actually had Emo hair!) and he was aged a little older at 21, but after several redraws and a bit of background rewriting, Cedrick is finally the adorkable teenager we know and love today. Richard’s true form as Death💀(a.k.a. “The Grim Reaper” or “Der Sensenmann” in the Kaspers’ native language). - While as a human incarnation, Richard transforms into Death when he’s in close personal contact with something or someone that needs their soul immediately removed by Fate’s orders. He’s been able to transform into Death since he was about 22, the estimated age when the last bone in the human body full fuses - making the incarnation’s body fully matured. With each transformation, a little piece gets wasted away from the inside out, leading to an early “death” by age 35-40 and forcing him back into a permanent skeletal form until Fate decides when he can live as a human again - usually once in 1,000 years (Death has been reborn within 150-500 years depending on Fate’s agenda; he’s also been reborn twice before within the Kasper bloodline, giving the family its reputation as “the tools of Death”). Richard was nearing his expiration when he met Sigrid, making her one of his last victims as an incarnation; normally he’s merciless when collecting souls, but seeing Sigrid somehow tugged at his heartstrings and made him pity her cursed condition by helping Sigrid live as much of a fulfilled life - resulting in marriage and having a son with her (in fact, he was so in love with her that he decided to keep Sigrid’s soul by his side after her death). #dtiyschallenge by @emmalainearts - I could of tried spending a bit more time working on it to match the color scheme more and add more detail, but my wrist and elbow has been acting up again and my eyes aren’t up for staring at my iPad longer than a few hours at a time (my left eyelid finally stopped twitching - for now). Even my focus and energy levels is kaput, so for the time being, I’ll probably be posting stuff I haven’t posted here yet, maybe some reposts, and a few sketch dumps - my poor drawing hand needs a break, and I need a recharge. Is it way too early to think about Summer?☀️ Because it’s been pushing over 80F/30C here in California and it already feels like Summer when it’s not even officially Spring yet - I want my Winter weather, Damnit! 😫 I haven’t posted my last two pics here on IG yet (one will be posted on 30 March for specific reasons; the other is already posted on my website frausama.com if you want to see it before it’s eventually posted here). This one is fresh from my iPad, and I don’t think I’ve made anything that screams 1980s aesthetic more than this pic (I’m sure I’ll make another one that’ll be just as much retro). I have 3 versions featured: glasses on, glasses off, and Richard with trunks on (sometimes Sigrid gets too embarrassed that her boyfriend goes out only wearing a Speedo🩲). Sigrid and Richard often went to the beach away from Copenhagen for weekend dates🏖; at the peak of Summer in July, Richard would take Sigrid out sailboat rides at his hometown (he’s from Kiel where there’s an annual sailboat festival⛵️). - 🐼 Side Note: I also just watched “Turning Red”, and boy that movie hit me hard with some of my childhood memories - I actually was in 8th Grade in 2002 just like Mei!😱 (I actually was into the “Backstreet Boys” more than “*NSync”, had a Giga Pet knock-off, collected those stickers [esp. Lisa Frank ones], owned a portable CD player, but I didn’t get a flip-phone until I was 18). I did an animation of Cedrick’s hair changing colors besides blue and purple - just thought it’d be fun to play around with hair color since he and Tricia are big fans of the K-Pop look and two-tone hair has been trendy. (Side Note: Ukraine really needs some serious love and help right now - it’s sickening knowing that they’re being invaded because of an old man’s delusional vision. Dr. Kasper’s timid and klutzy assistant still undergoing nursing courses; she’s often annoyed whenever Cedrick is around, jealous of how well he can draw blood and give shots at one go • Asia Williams —— The wife of Hr. Dr. Kasper’s coworker/BFF Tyrone Williams; she works at a salon, loves cooking vegan food, and makes her own jewelry • Aina Faustus (Aino Hanninen) —— Hr. Dr. Kasper’s grandmother (Sigrid’s mother); she is a Wicca who owns a flower shop in Copenhagen and makes/sells herbal medicine and potions • Freyja Ström —— Hr. This would be something the Kaspers/Ströms would eat almost every day for either Lunch or Dinner - normally their meals are a blend of German, Danish, Swedish, and a hint of Japanese cuisine (since Hr.
