It’s been a long while since I’ve posted one of these… • Because Sigrid is a Wicca unable to cast spells without an activation potion, her Enchantress schoolmates target her knowing she can’t retaliate (they would also steal & shatter her potion bottles and slash her bicycle tires). Her mother Aina usually treats her wounds when she returns home from school, but this one time she had an appointment & asked Richard to watch over the flower shop. What really pisses him off the most is people attacking others who are defenseless (he broke off his engagement with his ex because she was abusive to his sister-in-law & her children); seeing Sigrid’s face covered up with cuts & bruises was more than enough to trigger his desire to hunt down those who hurt her. • Regardless whether he’s human or Death, Richard is known for his vengeful temper - he takes souls without warning, and leaves behind a bloody scene to warn monsters & humans alike that he doesn’t mess around. Knowing this, Sigrid often has to plead with her boyfriend before he gets too haughty & blinded with rage for her sake. (Kasper men are infamous for being extremely protective of their family members & lovers, the only trait the occult community as a whole admires about the Kaspers) • It’s not often Freyja gets time off with her husband. “This little glass vial has as much power as a whole 500 ml bottle of activation potion?!” Going back to the 1980s with Sigrid and Richard lying on the green grass in the backyard, looking at and discussing a new version of an activation potion. - Sigrid uses activation potions to access her “Magical Potential” at her academy (Wicca needs an activation potion to unlock their ability to cast spells); Enchantresses can access their magic immediately, thus Sigrid was subjected to bullying and harassment by schoolmates - they would beat her up and steal the bottles of activation potion to prevent her from casting spells. But when Sigrid does have a chance to drink a bottle, her magic skills exceed all of her schoolmates combined - making her the academy’s most powerful student on record (something inherited from her Warlock father, passed down to her son, and now her grandson). To help her, Richard first started concentrating the contents of a single potion bottle into a tiny vial that can fit easily inside a pocket; eventually he developed a capsule for her to swallow before attending school, making it impossible for bullies to target her without getting retaliation (otherwise Richard would start planning out elaborate near-death experiences for each bully before his girlfriend would object). When I was in Berlin, I really had to restrain myself from taking home so many pamphlets because the typography was so beautiful (makes sense - the Gutenberg Press was invented in Germany, not to mention the language looks so clean and pretty printed out on paper; Japanese is also another language I find very beautiful on print). Seeing all the print kinda triggered the making of this - and it’s been a really long time since I’ve made one of these mock fashion magazine covers featuring my OCs (October 2021 was the last time I made one 😬). And I apologize for any grammar errors - I’ve only studied German for a year and a half! Quick drawing with 2023’s Pantone color: Viva Magenta Not quite the Barbie Pink that’s been popular in the last few months (or 1980s, especially with frilly gowns), yet it’s still vibrant enough to get some attention. Kind of a sequel to a previous Reel: Johannes in the snow wearing his father’s coat and clothing similar to his mother’s school uniform. He’s a bit touchy when bringing up his parents for a lot of reasons (mainly Sigrid dying soon after giving birth, Richard leaving him with his uncle Heinrich’s family when he was about four when reverting back to his true self as Death, etc.). Hr. “You forgot your coat… Take mine…” Sigrid has a bad habit of forgetting a coat wherever she goes outside, especially when she’s in a rush to school (she’s not very cold while running, and uses a heating potion that’s useful only one way going to school - her schoolmates would often steal or break the bottle so she’ll be cold after classes are finished). In occasion she does wear other clothes, often summer dresses she makes herself and current fashion trends of the 1980s; for special events at the academy, Sigrid wears gowns and traditional attire she and fellow Witches wear (such as pointy hats and anything with woven black lace and embroidery). Richard wears a range of clothing mostly from the 1970s - he’s a decade behind in fashion due to his ruined financial situation and frugal sensibilities (his ex-fiancée Shelia spent his entire allowance from his family and his personal savings, forcing him to close his medical practice and declare bankruptcy; he currently works at the university as a Researcher/Epidemiologist and “Handyman for hire” if he’s not busy dealing with rogue monsters and wandering souls). Sigrid has a life curse close to effect, occasionally triggering a transformation and strong desire to rip out her soul (he transforms into his true skeletal form as Death usually at night - especially in the presence of someone who has a soul marked for him to collect personally). A California Winter (Remake vs Original) I can say with confidence that my OCs have been consistent, more or less, in the last several years - especially these two. (yes, Cedrick is a big K-Pop Stan - he’s wearing a Felix [Stray Kids] T-shirt, making him a “Stay”) - Quite a bit of people in California think 60F is cold (I know someone who actually thinks 72F is too cold!), but me - I LOVE IT! I’m pretty spoiled with the warm weather most of the year (except Summer - I HATE IT), but it’s nice having cooler weather every now and then. My ideal daytime temp is about 55-60F so I can wear a light sweater or jacket over my usual T-shirt and leggings and be comfortable for the most part (if it’s colder than 50F, especially at night, then I get uncomfortable and crabby if I’m not wearing enough layers). A California Winter (Remake vs Original) I can say with confidence that my OCs have been consistent, more or less, in the last several years - especially these two. (yes, Cedrick is a big K-Pop Stan - he’s wearing a Felix [Stray Kids] T-shirt, making him a “Stay”) - Quite a bit of people in California think 60F is cold (I know someone who actually thinks 72F is too cold!), but me - I LOVE IT! I’m pretty spoiled with the warm weather most of the year (except Summer - I HATE IT), but it’s nice having cooler weather every now and then. My ideal daytime temp is about 55-60F so I can wear a light sweater or jacket over my usual T-shirt and leggings and be comfortable for the most part (if it’s colder than 50F, especially at night, then I get uncomfortable and crabby if I’m not wearing enough layers). This was sitting in my Drafts for almost a whole entire YEAR! 😵‍💫 But it’s Holiday Season again, so now’s a good time to post it (then archive it, lol). It’s Papa Kasper dressed up as a Heavy Metal Rocker Christkind.🤘🎸👑 [original 2021 commentary below] If Papa Kasper had his take on the Christkind, he’d be wearing all black and gold like a rockstar, lol. (And Jesus totally looks like a metal rocker too… or hippie… huh…🤔) Despite being stoic, academic, and very by-the-book most of the time, Faustuz does has a bit of a bad boy 1980s-1990s metal rocker that occasionally wants to be channel out (the long hair and singing karaoke with his cousin Hansel kinda hint at it). Even though their son Cedrick put a lot of effort into making this outfit, there’s no way Mama is passing up the opportunity to have her husband all dolled up in a traditional holiday costume for charity. I still can’t find a definite reason for the sex swap after lots of research - it’s a bit confusing how Christkind over centuries turned from a baby boy into a grown woman wearing a white and gold dress and huge crown; even vintage cards are often androgynous in regards to Christkind’s sex (just a blonde child with angel wings, white robe, and halo holding an evergreen branch and sack of gifts and often being followed by a deer), but the word “Kind” is gender neutral so… I guess it makes sense in that way? 😞😖😣😫 — #digitaldrawing #ipaddrawing #autodesksketchbook #originalcharacter #frauv8_ocs #malecharacter #man #femalecharacter #woman #comic #christkind #holidays #christmas #xmas #xmasプレゼント #weihnachten🎄
