Quick trip back to the 1980s with these two in three versions. (Original, Blue, Red) - Sigrid had always been into the current styles of the 1980s, always excited to get her hands on the latest teen fashion magazines to read and copy trends. Richard, on the other hand, has always been behind in regards to his fashion (most of his stuff is from the late 1960s to late 1970s). “If it’s not ripped or has holes, it’s still good” has been his philosophy since he dislikes shopping for new clothes; but when Richard does put effort to pick out more recent looks, Sigrid can’t help but get excited seeing her boyfriend wear something new. — #malecharacter #femalecharacter #frauv8_ocs #originalcharacter #originalcharacters #couple #man #girl #brown #blue #red

Richard and Sigrid sharing a quick kiss in Aina’s greenhouse; whenever they think she’s not looking, Sigrid’s mother loves popping up out of nowhere just to surprise them and try to “enhance the mood” (obviously Sigrid would get upset while Richard says “Thanks” and tries to lead Aina out of the room). •••• Because of Sigrid’s life curse, Aina was saddened with the fact her daughter wouldn’t live long enough to get married and have children - more so when the arcade owner’s son Batty got engaged to another girl (Aina was close friends with Batty’s father; both hoped their children would fall in love and get married). When Richard first arrived in her flower shop, Aina was smitten with his looks and charm, immediately thinking he’d be the perfect man for her daughter despite his reputation as the youngest son of “The Black Skull of Kiel” and as a promiscuous playboy (Richard also had just broken off his engagement). Aina knew Sigrid might not like him at first for obvious reasons (Sigrid’s heart was recently broken, instantly called Richard by his nickname “Dick” because that’s what she thought he was, and sensed he wasn’t a normal a Grim Reaper), but was surprised how quickly their relationship developed over the next year. Aina was beyond excited when Richard and Sigrid became a couple, even more so when they were finally expecting a child. But Aina’s view of Richard was shattered when she walked in Sigrid’s hospital room unannounced, seeing the harsh truth that he was Death all along as he pulled and held out Sigrid’s soul (Grim Reapers don’t personally remove people’s souls, just collect them up after the incident causing death occurred; only Death Himself will personally take souls that are marked by curses). Aina is still upset about Richard not being truthful about his identity as Death and intent to take Sigrid away, but doesn’t let that anger carry over towards her grandson Johannes Faustuz despite resembling his father. — #digitalart #digitaldrawing #ipaddrawing #autodesksketchbook #characterart #originalcharacter #originalcharacters #malecharacter #femalcharacter #couple #man #girl #kiss #leaves #grey #gray #black #white #orange #brown #yellow

A few skin tone palettes I use for my OCs; I use similar colors when using alcohol markers. Some skin tones are trickier than others (especially fair and dark) due to not getting so dark and having the right amount of contrast between colors - if it’s any darker, fair skin turns into medium/olive skin; if dark skin is too dark, you can’t see any important facial details. — #frauv8_ocs #characterdesign #characterart #originalcharacter #originalcharacters #ocs #oc #digitalart #digitalsketchbook #digitaldrawing #ipaddrawing #autodesksketchbook #colorpalette #skintones #malecharacter #femalecharacter #man #woman

It seems like a random doodle, but I can explain: When I was watching SQUID GAME, I was like “I know I’ve seen that color of jacket…” Yeah… it’s because I’ve drawn the same green color jacket before. 💀 It’s not exact, but pretty darn close. (It’s also my favorite shade of green too, lol; reference on the last slide to see the original jacket I had in mind) It’s also a similar shade of green doctors (particularly surgeons) wear to contrast with red, and obviously there’s one doctor OC who happens to wear a lot of green as part of his design… — #digitaldrawing #ipadsketch #ipaddrawing #originalcharacter #originalcharacters #men #man #malecharacter #green #greenjacket #squidgame

Something orange for October: it’s Cedrick Kasper and the family cat Klimt. October 13th is Cedrick’s birthday, and Klimt was his 9th birthday present from his grandfather Erik Ström; Cedrick picked Klimt because he was orange like his grandfather’s cat Klum (Klimt was also the runt of the litter, making him stand out even more amongst his siblings). As sweet and affectionate Klimt may be, he’s known to cause some trouble bringing in dead or dying critters, drinking out of Papa Kasper’s mug or Stern’s fishbowl, climbing up really high up trees (he’s a Norwegian Forest Cat), or tearing up the family’s emergency supply of toilet paper. As for Cedrick, he’s a young teenage wunderkind training to become a doctor like his father Johannes Faustuz and grandfather Richard, but also has a knack for crafting things like plushies and clothing like his mother Freyja. Being the only child of a Kasper and Ström, it’s not quite yet determined whether he’ll become a full-fledged Grim Reaper or occult weapons distributor/manufacturer; unless his parents have more kids (it’s possible but not likely - we’ll see), Cedrick is under a lot of pressure to choose once he’s 21 (right now he likes being a Junior Reaper, and he has plenty of distant cousins within the Ström family who can take care of things for him). — #autodesksketchbook #digitalart #digitaldrawing #ipaddrawing #malecharacter #originalcharacter #boy #cat #blue #pink #orange #white #black #grey #gray #red #fashion #bowlcut #glasses #boots #sweater #socks #shorts #skulls #blond

#sketchdump - just testing out the color palettes I made for skin and hair tones since Autodesk Sketchbook updated on my iPad. I still struggle a bit with skin tones, especially dark ones (medium skin tones are the easiest; fair skin tones can be tricky because if it’s too dark it pretty much becomes medium skin). As for hair tones, blond and grey hair are actually the hardest for me - dark hair like Tricia’s are the most easiest to color. So to say which OCs were the easiest to draw here? That’ll be Sigrid, Freyja, Kimiko, Vincent-Claude, and others with similar coloring (Freyja is also fun to draw realistically because she has freckles; Cedrick is still by far the easiest OC to draw based on design). Some souls floating around freely and glowing… - Souls naturally flow together and gather together in large numbers whenever there’s a Grim Reaper nearby. If a soul refuses to be gathered, it’ll have the potential of turning into a Poltergeist and cause physical harm to those who are living; once this happens, a Grim Reaper has no choice but to destroy the rogue soul - unless it finds a way to fulfill its unfinished business without causing too much damage. — #malecharacter #originalcharacter #man #room #couch #table #coffecup #digitalart #digitaldrawing #ipaddrawing #autodesksketchbook #motionleap #orange #brown #black #yellow #blue #green #pink #white

Another #sketchdump… Took awhile to finish this due to being busy with work and feeling lazy/tired/uninspired the past several days. •Sigrid likes dressing up in shorts & tanks when she’s not wearing school uniforms/dresses; when it’s nighttime she gets cold since she forgets to bring a sweater/jacket. Since Richard appeared, he’s been lending his coats which smells like Calvin Klein Obsession (Sigrid thought he’d stink with all the monsters & souls he hunts). •Hedy (Sigrid’s home room teacher/neighbor Mr. Vannderhassen’s cat) loves sneaking into Aina’s greenhouse for naps and visits with Odin (the neighborhood stray tomcat). As much as Sigrid and her mother love cats, their neighbor often accuses Aina of stealing his cat and is upset seeing a another man with Sigrid. •Richard gets calls from Aina at his office in Kiel about Tatzelwurms; they’re weasel/snake-like creatures that burrow underground & drawn to valuable crops (Aina grows flowers, shrubs, and herbs). He’ll get bloodied with scratches and bites killing them, which leads to stains on Aina’s floors; to prevent them, she’d force Richard to strip off his clothes and rinse off all the blood before getting locked in the bathroom until the laundry was done. •Sigrid relaxing after a doctor’s appointment; both know they’re expecting a boy but not sure if he’ll look like his mother or father (Johannes Faustuz ended up looking a lot like Richard). •Faustuz was able to see souls when he was about 3-6 months old; one soul would be floating nearby which scared him; it was his mother’s soul Richard keeps around for sentimental reasons after removing it from Sigrid’s body (Death keeps a special collection of souls of people he loved). •Aina has a hard time telling her grandson about his parents, esp. since it was Richard as Death who took Sigrid’s soul out; because of this, Faustuz grew up hating his father. — #frauv8_ocs #frauv8ocs #originalcharacterart #originalcharacters #autodesksketchbook #digitalart #digitaldrawing #drawing #ipaddrawing #animestyle #malecharacter #femalecharacter #couple #man #girl #woman #boy #baby #blue #green #orange #yellow #red #pink #white #black #grey #gray #brown

#sketchdump with a lot of OCs at once…😶 • Asia’s not happy with her hubby Tyrone having a hangover after having several drinks the night before with his “work spouse” Hr. Dr. Kasper. • Cedrick noticed Stern wasn’t in her fishbowl; since she’s so tiny and prone to drying out after long periods of time, he’s panicking trying to find her (she most likely crawled into a hot cup of tea sitting out in the kitchen). • Freyja is all dressed up for a red carpet event; she’s caught off guard with someone asking where “Mr. Ström” is for the night. • Some random guy at the local sports bar made fun of Johannes Faustuz drinking a pink cocktail, calling him a “Girly Man”. Kaspers are known to be extremely vengeful when insulted, so in retaliation Faustuz challenges him to a drinking contest - whoever drinks the most pink cocktails wins. Tyrone knows his coworker can tolerate a lot of alcohol, but he’s scared of the other guy getting hurt as well as explaining to Asia his whereabouts late at night. • Sigrid and Richard out on a rare daytime date in the 1980s. Most of their dates were at night to avoid people they know who don’t approve of their relationship, but if they want to eat out and play the latest arcade games on the same day then they have to plan a date for an earlier time. — #frauv8_ocs #frauv8ocs #originalcharacterart #originalcharacters #autodesksketchbook #digitalart #digitaldrawing #drawing #ipaddrawing #animestyle #malecharacter #femalecharacter #couple #men #man #girl #woman #boy #blue #green #yellow #red #pink #white #purple #violet #black

A closer look at two extended family members: Ida & Sabrina Vandenberg. - Ida Baum met Olafur Kasper in college; she felt pity for him having burn scars on his face and scalp from the war; they quickly bonded over their shared background in the occult and love of American music. They married and had Heinrich; Olaf hoped his firstborn was the new incarnation of Death, while Ida took pride in their son wanting to become an occult historian like herself and her parents. It was a surprise when they were expecting a second child; Ida wanted it to be a girl, but both were soon disappointed when it was another boy (Heinrich was happy to have a little brother and gave him the name Richard). Ida was so depressed after giving birth that her parents took the newborn home with them at Johannesburg to let her recover. Richard was returned about 5 years later, but Ida became more disturbed when she overheard her youngest son bring up past events about his father she never heard about, revealing that he was the long awaited incarnation of Death within the Kasper family. Unable to stomach her husband’s past and unhappy not having the daughter she wanted, Ida found love elsewhere with a young American soldier and eloped with him to New York to start a new life with him. She felt some pity towards her oldest child, occasionally sending him presents and letters of encouragement to continue his studies; however, like Olaf, Ida was cold towards Richard - more so when she had her third child, finally the daughter she always wanted. - Sabrina grew up spoiled as an only child; she’s notorious for being posh and cutthroat, but also hardworking and resourceful. She knew about Heinrich early on, but was shocked when she learned she actually had two older siblings; Sabrina wasn’t interested with either brother, but of the two, she hated Richard mainly because he was the younger one and resembles their mother the most. — #femalecharacter #malecharacter #autodesksketchbook #frauv8_ocs #characterdesign #charactersheet #notes #digitalart #digitaldrawing #originalcharacters #originalcharacterart #men #woman #women #sons #mother #daughter #pink #green #orange #blue #white #yellow

A closer look at some of the Re-ment drugstore set items I unboxed earlier. (My live video is on my IGTV now for anyone who missed it) Aside from drawing, I also collect dolls and miniatures. It’s been mentioned to me many times, but yes - my dolls do look a lot like a few of my OCs (Cedrick, Tricia, Freyja); because of that, I do use them occasionally as models. And since I do have a lot of Re-ment items, I probably should be showing them off by doing more doll photography (I probably have over 1,000 pieces by now). — #rement #rements #rementcollection #drugstore #doll #dolls #miniatures #miniature #miniatureitems #rementminiatures #remenminiature #rementdrugstore #miniaturephotography #dollphotography
