“Hi! I’m Cedrick!” (I’ve been grilled on Duolingo so much to use „Ich heiße…“, but I’ve also seen/heard „Ich bin...“ and „Mein Name ist…“ used; it’s hard to say what’s the preferred/proper way when all 3 ways are said to be correct 😐) Cedrick Kasper was my first official OC I made all the way back circa 2005-2006. His original design was quite messy (he actually had Emo hair!) and he was aged a little older at 21, but after several redraws and a bit of background rewriting, Cedrick is finally the adorkable teenager we know and love today. Oh my… This year’s MET theme was based off the Gilded Age, and it looked like a sloppy tragic mess - an “F” for execution and effort in my opinion. There wasn’t not enough puffed sleeves, high collars, pleated skirts, opera gloves, glittery jewelry, bright colors on dresses, feathers and fur, top hats, and not to mention some literally took the “coated in gold” definition. A lot of the looks came from wrong eras (though some of them were amazing, like Gigi Hadid’s quilted burgundy gown), and some looks were just so lazy (seriously - Marilyn Monroe’s skintight nude-colored dress from the 1960s?! Why?!). Some menswear were also spot-on like Ryan Reynolds (mens fashion were a bit plain with waistcoats, trousers, and collared shirts with muted solid colors), but again lacked hats and could’ve had some fun with shoes and accessories such as glasses, gloves, bow ties, and pocket watches. Now who had outfits that did a good job reflecting the Gilded Age aesthetic in my opinion? Billie Eilish (the colors, silhouette, draping… love it), Bad Bunny (the puffed sleeves, structured coat, and collared shirt), and Emma Corrin (the top hat and her coat kinda resembles a “Bike Suit” and maybe a hint of “Flauntleroy Boy”). - So for fun (with a hint of annoyed spite), in this made-up version of the world where my OC Freyja is a famous personality, she and her family would wear something like these outfits in a Gilded Glamour event. But after his marriage failed and hearing of Sigrid’s death, he realized how much he actually misses her and wonders how different life would of been if he dated and married Sigrid. So seeing Sigrid’s son looking like his father Richard annoys Batty (he hates Richard mainly because he sees him as a rival); but his temper occasionally cools down into pity and nostalgia when he sees how much Johannes Faustuz acts just like Sigrid. Johannes Faustuz always refers to his grandmother Aina as “Mama” since he never knew his actual mother Sigrid (he never calls Tante Yoko “Mama” even though she raised him after Richard’s absence). Richard’s words: “WHO THE F*CK IS BATTY?!” Sebastian “Batty” Sorensen was Sigrid’s childhood crush since she was about 3 and he was almost 10; she first saw him while playing at his father’s arcade, and ever since she was in love. Batty always thought Sigrid was annoying watching him from behind, or stammering whenever she tried talking to him; he didn’t think she was worth looking at since he overheard she “doesn’t have much time left to live”. Batty also didn’t like how his father wanted him to marry Sigrid because she regularly visited the arcade and her mother Aina hired him to help out around the flower shop; he purposely kept being mean with hopes that she’ll leave him alone. To keep his distance from Sigrid, Batty quickly enrolled at the police academy at Copenhagen after graduating high school; since returning as a police officer 4 years later, Batty has been the seen as the neighborhood beau and town’s hero. Sigrid was so excited about his homecoming that she made him a large bouquet of rare flowers; her heart shattered when she saw an older schoolmate with the bouquet she gave Batty, declaring that he had asked her out for a date. The next year on Valentine’s Day Batty proposed to the same girl, making Sigrid hopeless on love (it was also the same day she first met Richard visiting her mother’s shop for rare plants). Initially Batty didn’t think much of Richard, but seeing he’s not from Denmark made him suspicious (Richard was from Germany and spoke bad Danish). Batty quickly grew jealous seeing Richard wooing Sigrid as his own relationship was growing more turbulent; he also saw Richard as a rival with his growing reputation as a reliable handyman man for miscellaneous tasks around town (Batty actually was terrible repairing things, leaving tasks halfway done before leaving for another). Richard treating Sigrid with ice cream after work at her mother Aina’s flower shop. - In the early months since they met, Richard treated Sigrid like a little sister tutoring and accompanying her to/from school, as well as helping out with housework neither she or her mother could do on their own - like killing Tatzelwurms, installing new sprinklers, repairing cracked pavements, and lifting bags of soil and crates of flower pots (Aina used to ask Sigrid’s crush Batty for help, but since he started working as a police officer and crushed Sigrid’s heart after rejecting her confession, Batty has been ignoring Aina’s phone calls and avoiding Sigrid at his father’s arcade; Aina practically took advantage of Richard by having him help out around her flower shop/house while allowing him to woo her daughter). My poor attempt in making one of them smexy drink videos, lol. It was okay right after making this video, but adding just a tiny bit more syrup made it perfect (you always need more than you think to really get some flavor, especially as the ice melts). Also, the Voiceover couldn’t say it right the first time - it’s still not quite right after some adjustments with the “U” and “E”, lol. It’s two syllables. Starts like “Über” and ends like “Café” - not one syllable like “Boob” without the first “B”, lol. All dressed up in matching yellow outfits in front of the Zenyatta bronze statue @santaanitapark. 🐎 It’s that time of the year again – the busiest day of the Winter/Spring Meet at Santa Anita Park! This year of 2022 on Saturday April 9th features 12 races (including the Santa Anita Derby) – which means a very busy long day for me inside working while people outside enjoy all the fun (I heard Marshmellow would be performing in the Infield during the races, so for anyone who likes EDM, it might be a good day to go). If you happen to visit/live in the Los Angeles area, feel free to check out the track and absorb the historic atmosphere (the horse smell actually isn’t that bad 🐴 – my dad would always say “That’s money you’re smelling!” wherever there’s large animals around, lol). Hr. Dr. Kasper, Cedrick, and their distant cousin Kiya (Yevdokiya). - Kiya is staying with the Kasper Family until Auntie Vasilisa (Baba Yaga) is finished casting her complex spells repairing and relocating their house from the Red Forest of Chernobyl (it’s a really big house with chicken legs and skull lanterns). She’s almost two years older than Cedrick but looks like she could be his twin or younger sister, and is a Junior Reaper like Cedrick. She’s still in High School (unlike Cedrick who’s a Wunderkind and working with his father), has a very nurturing personality (she treats Cedrick as the little sibling she always wanted), and likes making yarn dolls and sweaters.
